Let it rain.

Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care.
It can rain SIDEWAYS, I am on a mini vacay, and I just don't care.

DH and I left at the crack of dawn, well, almost.  Then he forgot his bathing suit, and we had to go back.
And we had heard the weather forecast, but we were NOT deterred.  A good friend had offered to come stay with my mother and her broken shoulder, and the dog, and we were not about to pass up the chance to just get away.

Vermont was beautiful anyway.

And maybe we were in just a bit too much of a hurry.  Maybe.
By the time my husband saw the sheriff pulled off to his left, it was too late.

I was going to ask him if I could take a picture of him for my blog, but he had the personality of a computer, so I deferred.
For doing 53 in a 40mph zone, DH got a $131 fine.
OUCH.
But still, we were not deterred.
My house has been incredibly somewhat stressful these last couple of weeks, we very much need a break.
We don't even have any big plans.  Just to wander around aimlessly, and eat good food.
Isn't that a plan of its own???

And I even got to wear my new bathing suit.

And there is a marvelous hot tub.

I'm glad I lost those 12 lbs, hope I don't pack them back on in just a couple of days. That's not possible, is it???

We went to a lovely restaurant for dinner, that looked out over the marsh.

At one point during dinner, I commented on the rain outside the window.  DH said, "Yeah, but it's kind of calming."
Ah.
Yes, it certainly is.

I suppose the rain can be calming if you don't have to be out in it. Glad you were able to get away. Too bad about the ticket.

How nice for you to get away. I wish I looked like that in a suit. I really need to buy one but I don't want to spend $100! Complaining is free.

Ha - the universe sent a policeman to tell you to SLOW DOWN and enjoy your vacay. :)

You look GREAT in your suit, girl!

Wish I looked that good in a swimsuit. You are getting pretty ballsey with your photos girlfriend. But I LOVE IT! You go girl. So happy you were able to get away. I should be next.

Good for you both for getting a vacation even if it was a "mini." Too bad about the ticket - that hurts. Oh, the pool looks wonderful - and you look pretty good in the bathing suit. I should lose 12 lbs, or more! Nancy H
