Crazy as a Loom

Leisurely, again.

OMG, I am hopeless.
Seriously.
Another day OFF.
Can you believe that?
My friend and I took off for Middlebury, Vt.  We wanted to go to the yarn shop there, and have a nice leisurely, chat it up, kind of lunch.

I wasn't a total slug though.  I took rugs and Hip to Be Square Rag Rug Kits with me, and dropped them off at two shops.
Sweet Cecily, right on Main St, is a sweet little novelty shop, and they sell Solmate socks, so they like to have some Solmate sock rugs to go with them.
Cacklin' Hens, a Vermont Yarn, Bead, and Gift Emporium, is a fantastic yarn shop, and they are selling the Hip to Be Square, and other fabric rugs.  I am going to make them some bags to carry yarn in.

Being orderless never felt so good as it has lately.  It is just my perspective.

This guy knows how to relax.

(that's my new lens..........I can zoom in that far and didn't have to carry around another lens)

There are lots of places to have lunch in Middlebury, but the owner of the yarn shop suggested one we haven't been to before.

We're always up for a new lunch location.

And it was a beautiful day to eat outside.

We ate under a canopy looking out over the Otter Creek, just downstream from the falls.

I  am trying to learn how to do other stuff, besides work.   I sometimes get into 'production mode', and I am quite unkind to myself.
I am trying to be better.
I have friends, and family, who are trying to help me unlearn some of my bad habits.

A cold glass of summer ale doesn't hurt either.  For lunch.   I am SO bad.
And it was SO good.

Middlebury has lots of shopping possibilities.  If you haven't been to this little college town in the Green Mountains, you're missing a gem.  They have a great farmer's market on Saturday, overlooking the river.
Maybe I can get DH to go.
Ya think?

Back at it tomorrow, you know what my father said.
There is no rest for the wicked.

Thanks for the photos... Hubby interviewed for a job in VT at one time and so I always wondered what that area looked like.. It's quaint and I like it!

Still love that lens of yours!

Now that really looks like fun. It's so wonderful to hear that you're taking it easy. And that you had a beer in the middle of a weekday. You are such a badass.

Productivity is overrated.

Nice to hear that you're unwinding a bit ~ enjoy!

I hear ya on the work thing. I'm just NOW starting to realize it's ok not to be productive every flipping minute. Your day sounds WONDERFUL and much like the day I have in store for myself tomorrow! Glad you are orderless at the moment. Now breathe and look around! Enjoy!

Oh I love Middlebury, and Vermont! I was in that shop! I recognize it. Lot of neat stuff! I think Lake Dunmore is a little south of Middlebury. We rented a house on the lake twice. Nice place for a vacation if hubby likes to fish? Looks like you had a nice little trip!

I love Middlebury, VT!!! We looked at the college there--Noah and I...even though he didn't get in we still like it! :D It is a wonderful place to just prowl around! My Dad used to say that, too...Is that why I'm so tired??

And here I thought you were going to say that you were hopeless because you bought another loom or something. ;) Sounds and looks like a fine day. You should do that more often!

Thanks for reminding me I haven't had my Bud Lite Lime today! It is AFTER noon now, so I am entitled to a little refreshment--am I not?lol --Hottest day ever recorded in Little Rock, AR where I live; 114 degrees and HUMID--I went out after lunch and it is so oppressive I could hardly breathe--every thing is parched and dry! Praying for rain!
P.S. All we got was a little tease of thunder!
