Crazy as a Loom

And Hallelujah.

Every day I try to act "normal", whatever  that might be.
I try to act "as if" I do not have a headache.
Some days it works, some days, not so much.

When it works, I am busy making bright, spring rugs.
Happy rugs.

Container rugs.  That's what I call them.

Today I had another diagnostic injection, this time in my right thoracic area.
It wasn't that bad.

I did, however, express my not very happy self.    For weeks, it seems like I have been hustled in, tortured, and shooed out.
I never get to SEE the doctor, because I am face down, with my bare back/neck awaiting his sharpened needles, when he appears.

I admit to being worn down, discouraged, confused, and generally disgruntled.
Very nicely, I indicated that I need a little attention, you know, BEDSIDE MANNER.
They teach it, or not, in med school.
Nurses, old or otherwise, make for lousy patients.  They know too much.

Surprisingly, I was put in an exam room, and voila!  He appeared.   Concerned, helpful, talkative, reassuring....all the things I needed.
It is true that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

So after the injection,  I was happy to leave, even with the staggering list of injections ahead.

Can't think about them,  you know the rule.
 Stay in the day.
I'm trying, I really am.

I have made 11 of these rugs, but daughter #2 is the proud owner of two of them.  She saw them on my BLOG.
She LOVED them.

What are Moms for ????  Especially WEAVING Moms.

Tomorrow, I might get 3 or 4 more done, depending on my head.
All things depend on my head.
No wonder it's changed my perspective.

One of these days.......I'm going to blog..........."remember that horrible headache I had for months and months???"

Until then, I'm gonna keep on keeping on.
Amen.

I love what you're doing to keep positive. So glad your doctor stopped to talk to you. It's so reassuring. Some day you'll look back on this, but none of it will ever be funny.

Good for you, telling him that you needed more time. Did he give you any idea of what to expect as far as relief?
The rugs look light and almost beachy, great for this time of year.

Hope you are soon saying: Remember when??

Love your rugs... my daughters steal mine too. They come off the loom and out the door in the same day sometimes!

Poor baby.. I so hate that for you. Keep on being positive.. and may these days be brief in the whole scheme of things.

I love the rug with the yellow stripe and the one with the extra turquoise two pics later. Beautiful.

You make great looking rugs in your suffering. Honestly. I almost think I would have rather had brain surgery and have it done and over with than go through this week after week. Bet then I'm a big woose.

The rugs are beautiful. Hard to believe you wove them with a headache. I really admire your tenacity to be upbeat and positive.

I worked in a hospital for 17 years and my husband is a nurse so I know how some doctors have no bedside manner. Good for you telling him you need time and reassurance.

I hope he gave you a light at the end of the tunnel.

Looking forward to that day, too. You do fine work with a headache. Most people would just crawl under a rock. You amaze me.

Kate's right ... and I am drooling over those rugs but in an apartment the size of a postage stamp with two crazy cats .. sigh .. we're a no rug family ... Jack has not turned the smaller of the two mats into a sort of glider/sled .. he's too quick to get a photo of .. he also wrestles it .. that I am going to get a snap of to send to you .. I bet you and L had no idea all the uses those mats had!

I love all those rugs. I don't have enough floor space for them all!
I just had surgery on my wrist and elbow. I had some good quality time before and after with the surgeon. It sure made a big difference!
Good for you standing up for your rights as a patient.
Looking forward to your remember when posts!!

I sympathize with you. I have had a headache since July 2011. They can't seem to find out what is wrong. I do take a drug that helps some. It's an anti-seizure medication. You might want to ask your doctor about it. A neurologist prescribed it for me.

I simply love your rugs. Would love to visit and see your looms someday.

Take care.

These rugs are so pretty. Love the fresh spring colors. I don't how you keep going with the headache. With the shingles being my third illness I have been discouraged. But I am getting better and my creative urges are returning.

Welcome to my world.
