Crazy as a Loom

What, no cats?

Rainy New York. Windy New York.
But we were so busy at the studio, we hardly noticed.
Big news today..............L made her first rug.
I, for one, am very happy.

From december

I am envisioning stacks of them...........after all, she needs the practice, right?

I spent almost all day making Greek Honey cookies, and yes, the recipe is guarded closely. I have trouble giving it up. I can't even explain it. It came to me from a Greek lady I met in Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay, back in 1977. She gifted me with the recipe, and I have made them every Christmas since. Thanks to you Helen Vriavas, wherever you are. I remember with fondness your beautiful blond pony tail, your dazzling smile, but I will love your cookies forever.

I decided to get a rug started on every loom, so that people coming to the Open House can understand a bit of what I do.
So here's what's on the looms I dressed up:

All the while, checking the cookies. I only burned one small batch.

Here's one of the rugs my mother and I tore apart last night.

I had fun today, can you tell?

One more day to get ready. The studio is looking good. I still have more cookies to make, and a few more things to do, but it's all OK.
There are trays of cookies covered with Reynolds wrap all over the kitchen. I had to shut the doors to keep the cats out. I am sure they are not too pleased with me right about now.

But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

OMG! I sure wish I were closer to you. I would love, love, love to go through your studio this weekend during open house. Well, I would love to go through it at anytime! Scrumptous rugs. They all look to be cozy. L's rug? Fantastic colors. It turned out great!
Poor kitties...they will be back in before they know it!

Why didn't you make some extra 'kitty' cookies? You probably should you know.

Some day when I have some bucks just laying around I am going to order a couple of your rugs. They look awesome and so well made.

Your loom placards are terrific. Love the descriptions. Why don't I live closer??? I'd love to come up for a weaving "boot camp" and learn how to weave such great rugs.
