Crazy as a Loom

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Ahhhh.

Finishing the big rug we have been working on, felt good.  I needed that.
We have been slugging away at it, as part of a big order.  There are three sections on the loom, which you will see us taking off.  They are each 4 ft wide.....plus a little, and they are each 14 ft long, plus 20% for take up.
Over the weekend, I will pin and hem the ends of each of the three pieces, and then Monday, we will take it to the Parish House, where there is room to lay it all out, and we will seam the three pieces together by hand.
So take a look.  What do you think?

WOW! I LOVED watching that. Your videos are great. Do more! Us non-weavers (or weaver wannabes) need to be enlightened.

That does indeed look like a lot of work. I'd be relieved that it's done, too. Good going.

I can see why you are glad to be done with that much of the same weaving. =)

I have a question. I have turned down a few requests for big rugs like that. I am chicken about ending up with 3 rugs of slightly varying lengths. How do you measure to get them exactly the same length?
