Touchdown

I will admit it, I have been a slug lately.  I have opted not to walk Roy on several occasions, not because I was lazy, but because it is SO cold.

This morning, I kicked myself in the butt, and out the door we went.  It was 23 degrees, but I had my LLBean down coat on, and I was pretty toasty.   It has a hood, and keeps my neck warm, and that is realistically the most important thing for me.

At least the bike path was passable, sometimes it is so deep with snow, that we can't walk it.

I know it's Super Bowl Sunday, and to be frank, I could care less.  The commercials are entertaining, but otherwise I find it pretty boring.  I am not a football fan, and never have been.

So.............my knitting needles are flying.

And I want to thank KATE (Chronicles of a Country Girl) for her mention of a book, The Thirteenth Tale.   I was impressed when she said it was the best book she'd ever read, so when I was in the library, I looked for it.  And they had it!!!
I am half way through it, and having trouble putting it down.
Knit?  Read?  Knit? Read?
Who needs football???

And I have this lovely 750 yd skein of hand dyed fingering yarn from the Vermont Yarn Co. that I am itching to knit up.
So there you have it.

I'll have my own entertainment.  Thanks to football, but no thanks.
It can just be background noise, and that's fine with me.

I am so glad that you like the book. I sent it to my one sister, who after reading the first few chapters, realized that she'd read it several years ago. I forced myself to take a walk today too. I don't get out there nearly as much as I should, weather be damned.
I feel the same way about the Stupid Bowl. Always have.

I force myself out with Kane if the weather is above -10 and today it was sunny so out we went. Me with my aching back and then Kane slipped on the ice and limped all the way home. We were quite the pair but we got our exercise.:)
Love those booties. Hate football.

I'm not walking until Spring. I do the chores and feed the birds and otherwise I'm not feeling guilty staying indoors where it is warm! I hope you are feeling better, Hilary. And I'm with you as far as football is concerned...a good book or knitting by the woodstove and I'm happy!

I baked, did a crossword puzzle, made chili and now I'm watching "Elementary!" I've been somewhat of a slug too and no football for me:-D Love the sweater--one day, I'm making one...it's on my Bucket List!

Oh my GOSH! I love, love, love, the color of that yarn, it is dreamy! I can't wait to see what you knit up with that. The little sweater is adorable too, pretty colors too!
It's okay to be a slug at times. You just have to know when you need to kick yourself in the butt to get out of the sluggishness, and I see you know when to do that.

I read that book a while back and even mentioned it in a blog post at the time... something I never do. Football... it doesn't interest me either but we did have a Super Bowl party here at Frank's place ...that was fun. The guys watched in one room and the women gabbed in another. All were happy.
