Crazy as a Loom

Just shuttling along.

I had the best day.
I'm sure that some people might think that I am nuts, but it was right up my alley.
I turned the heat on in the back bedroom, and wove bamboo scarves all day. I listened to NPR, and watched the weather change outside. Lots of wind. Snow flurries and grey skies, then brilliant sunshine.
Sweet.

I have 5 colorways of bamboo ribbon. This is #1, an off white, beige and light sage green.

This one, #2, is brown, and shades of salmon/orange/rust and pink.

#3 is a bright blue, some navy, a little off white, and shades of brown.

#4 is off white, gray, shades of navy, with some brown.
There is a #5, that I haven't done yet. It is off white, blue, with some light sage green, and brown.
And of course, I had company. At least one cat was in attendance at all times.

Maybe they take shifts.........."you watch her now, I'll be up in an hour to take over."

Kizzy is my guard cat. He alerts me to anyone driving in the driveway, or coming up on the porch. As soon as he hears or sees someone, he runs and hides.

I think things will slow down a bit after Christmas, and I will take that time to weave for the shop, and also to experiment with new things.
I have a couple of plans, but mostly, no plan. Sometimes, that is the perfect plan.

Sounds like a wonderful day. I spent a similar one, sans the snow and the scarves . . .
Love your helpers.

Sounds like an awesome day... and I am so ready for snow. If there are no leaves, there may as well be snow, no?

Gorgeous scarves! However, it's that headboard that REALLY grabbed my attention. Is that an old door? Did you just take the door and attach it to the wall? Oh gosh, I've got some old doors in my barn that would be perfect for my rooms. Did you seal them in or anything before you hung them?

Gosh, I am always loving on your photos. You inspire me in so many ways...............

Please don't ever stop describing your day. I'm enjoying the peace and harmony vicariously through you. I retire from my day job in one month, and I'm looking forward to spending some time with the loom and the wheel, uninterrupted.

Love those scarves - I'll have to look into that bamboo tape yarn!

OH I just bought some of that bamboo yarn too... and should get the butt in gear and try a scarf. Rugs keep calling my name though instead. But perhaps a scarf or two as holiday gifts? Love the colors you found.. soft and muted.

Doesn't sound nuts to me at all - three things I enjoy very much all at once sounds great! Weaving, cats and NPR. I'd say rich is a better word.

Welcome to my world.
