Don't expect much.

First day my lap top has been opened since my daughter posted.

I type like an 8 year old.....have to retype everything.
I am as weak as a kitten.
I am exhausted.
I feel like my head has met up with something very large and very hard.  Like it has a hole in it........actually it does.
My neck feels like it has 2 metal rods, and 4 screws in it.......oh, yeah, actually it does.

But miraculously, already even though most of my head feels like crap, there is NO pressure behind my eyes.    You heard that, right?
I sleep all the time.  I love lime jello, toast with tea, mashed potatoes, ginger ale.  All not my usual.
No appetite really, but those are the things that go down.
DH has been walking me down the sidewalk a few houses, and back.
I have no desire to weave, read, or do much of anything.
But I had to get on here long enough to tell you that I have the most incredible daughters in the world, who got me through this, and the most incredible friends, who have been there for me every step of the way.
And you guys??  all of you who send your love and encouragement from afar, who pray for me, cheer me on, and care about me?
You're just phenomenal. You make me believe in everything good in this world.
Damn the evening news.
What do they know?
Ta, ta for now.
signed,
Bionic Woman/alias Zipper Head.
Love ya right back.
(And the chocolate macadamia candy from Hawaii.........oh, Sandy.  You are a lovely person.)

Hi Hilary.. I am so happy to hear from you. I did a post for tomorrow that was for you and hoping that we would hear from you soon. I'll throw it up anyway. Here you are...imagine that. Yes, I just knew YOUR daughter's would come through. Wonderful. They must be in awe of your strength. That's a really good thing for a daughter to see. I wish you well,I wish I was closer so I could scoop boxes for you and feed those kitties. I'm sure you have many people rallying around you. Enjoy that as long as you can. Heal up and rest, rest, rest. Hugs, Deb

YAHOOOOO! Oh, Hilary, thanks so much for typing those words. It's been so hard to get on and not hear anything since Tuesday . . . to be thinking of you so often and wondering how you're doing. You're home! Amazing! So glad your family is taking good care of you. All will come in time. Sleep, sleep, sleep . . . and rest when you're not sleeping. Hope that Roy Boy is sleeping right beside you. Blessings to you. Becky

Oh HURRAY!! The doctors apparently did their job well, remember, your job is to recover. Sleep is when you are healing. You are exhausted because your body
is working on recovery, full time. Let it do it's job. It will get better.
And bless DH and your daughters for taking care of you. And Roy, who I bet is your best couch buddy. So glad you were able to post- can you believe it was just 5 days ago! Such a wonder, ZipperHead.

There you are! Your body is healing and the older we get, the more energy it seems to sap to use for that healing. I know exactly what you mean when you say you are as weak as a kitten. Just keep healing, Hilary. There will come a day when you suddenly realize that you feel normal again. And this time, it will be sans the monster. xoxo

Good for you, you've done it. It's wonderful to hear you yourself again.

Take very good care, let those girls do stuff for you and lean on your husband for all your worth.

You'll do it and you'll be as good as new.

Hooray for modern medicine! It's just a shame it took so long for you to get a diagnosis. But now the worst is over and you can finally see that light at the end of the tunnel. Take care and don't rush things.

YAY!!!! No headache!!!! And you sound just like yourself - well, OK, a little cranky and tired, but jeez, major surgery will do that to you. Another week and you'll be back to weaving like old (but with no headache!).

Abby said...

Sooooo glad to hear from you again! So happy to hear you already can tell the monster is gone but, please rest, take care, maybe watch old movies, enjoy the simpler things in life for awhile - don't rush your recovery but, get well soon! :) Maybe when you do feel up to weaving again, you can weave something special for that fabulous doctor who finally found the way to help you get your life back! Maybe till then, you can just have fun imagining what it should be. :) But, please tell us. :) Or, maybe that doctor would like a kitty - maybe in a basket lined with something you wove - or a sock monkey. :) Hope you have a sock monkey or two smiling at you now.
Take good care.
