Back to work

So the 'orderless' break time was over before I ever really got into it. Like a cancelled vacay.
Six days after I finished my 'last' order, I got another, and then another. Well, you get the picture. I'm not complaining. I get paid to do what I love to do anyway. It's all good.

I have been weaving placemats the last few days, trying to have more on hand.
Here are four new sets.

I am reweaving a rug for someone, because it was falling apart. So this afternoon, I spent a lot of time taking it apart, and rolling the fabric up.
And I did a little upkeep on my web site. I decided that the shawls I made probably won't sell if I don't put them on the web site.
So here they are.

They are cotton, and very light.

And I'm getting a loom ready for an order........here are the fabric samples that were sent to me. I think these warp threads are perfect. Don't you?

OK, and now for a little movie review.
My husband and I don't go to many movies. Last night we went out to eat, and then to see "Shutter Island".
It is a suspense/thriller/mystery movie with Leonardo DiCaprio.
It was very confusing. Overdone. Gory. Unbelievable. Bizarre. Depressing.
A few people got up and left mid movie. I was tempted.
My husband was stoic.
It was horrific. There's just no other way to say it.

So, do you think I have a future in movie review???
No, I guess not.
But my advice, don't see it.
Unless, you wait til you can rent it, and then you can turn it off when you are sick of it. Which won't take all that long.

And now for a confession.
Remember those New Year's Resolutions.
Yeah, well, don't make me say it, OK?
But before I look like Sydney, and have to lay like this because I am so fat.......

I will be walking OUTSIDE soon, because today, spring was in the air.
For real.

I'm with you, Hilary! Time to put on my walking shoes and hit the path. I'm packing my winter weight, and I'm really tired of it! Love the shawls!

Getting back into the gym myself!
Love the scarfs...have such a soft spot for them.

Ohhh, gosh. Those scarves are gorgeous, Hilary!

I had already made a conscious decision after seeing previews on TV not to see Shutter Island. There was a time in my life I enjoyed movies like that but with age I have found them to be upsetting. Even when Hubby watches certain violent shows on TV I just have to get up and leave the room.

Going to strap on my shoes and go for a long walk tomorrow too. Can no longer handle my growing waistline!

I'm with you on the weight thing! I've just read "Eat to Live" and started the plan last week and have lost 4 pounds in two weeks. I also starting walking longer since the weather is better. Here is a movie recommendation for you - An Education. Very. Very Good. You will love it.

Thanks for letting us see the choosing process for that new warp. I am really enjoying the playing with color aspect of this profession, who would have thunk it!
My walking partner, Wally has been a little off this past week or two. I cant walk without him now can I?

Getting orders is so nice! I know you wanted a bit of a break, but it's nice to know the work you love doing, someone loves paying you for it. You are so lucky!

Why don't you join my 10,000 Step Club?

Love the shawls, they look just perfect and congrats on all the new orders coming in. Woohoo!
As to Shutter Island, not surprising but the book was a very good griping read. I suspect Hollyweird has given it the G&G treatment ( gore and guts). It really is a very subtle and scary psychological thriller in it's written form.

Such beautiful pieces as always. I know the feeling of needing to lose weight. I lost quite a few pound in the last few weeks. It took me only one week away to gain half of it back.. sigh! Wanna go out walking?

Hi, I'm enjoying reading your blog, love the cats and the mats!
I agree with you, it's not fair how quickly 'free' time disappears, is it?
Best wishes with the work,
the fabric samples look lovely, it'll be interesting to see how the mat turns out!
