Crazy as a Loom

Just checking in

In the Hilary vs brain surgery event, the brain surgery won.
So it appears.
I am beginning to get some appetite back.  I walk, escorted, once or twice a day.
I nap,
I use a lot of ice on the back of my neck/head.
I nap.
If I try to do something, say......make tea, by the time it is done, I have to rest those muscles in the back of my neck/head.  They were severely disturbed, and they are very unhappy.

My pain is pretty much controlled, well, in my world, anyway.
I won't do narcotics, so it's Tylenol, ice, and an occasional Flexeril.
It's not that I'm being tough, but I just choose to deal with a certain amount of pain, and feel like myself, rather than have less pain and be drugged and nauseous.
I have yet to go to the studio, which pains me, but I know I need to rest.
And Lois is doing a fantastic job of taking charge.  I wouldn't expect a bit less.
My sweet friend Alice comes every day and takes Roy for a long walk.  Bless her.
My bff Sheila comes by with lunch from our fave cafe.

But most of all, DH is guaranteed angel wings.  He shops and cooks and waits on me, and then on top of that, he runs himself ragged for my mother, who is mostly clueless.
Although, she does what she can to help me, too.
I am so grateful to everyone.
I am trying to be patient, but will admit it, just yesterday I dreamt of a loom.

Oh, yes, and Roy.......he would like to be called Nurse Roy for now, if you don't mind.

Hi, Hilary ~

So good to see you, and especially being comforted by Roy. How good to hear that your husband is helping so much. I bet it's wonderful for him to be needed. So glad to hear that you're getting plenty of help. I'm sure they all know that you'd do the same for them. I think of you often and wonder how you are, and now I know a little better. Thanks for this ~

Thank you for thinking of us and taking precious time to update. Can I just say, you are a very fortunate woman to be so loved. Keep taking baby steps and soon you will have your hands on a loom again.

I'm new to your blog, but feel like I've known you all my life. I know all too well, that you have to listen to your body; you will weave again. Let the ones who love you, help--it will do you all good. XOXO

It's so good to hear from you Hilary. I know it isn't easy for you to blog but I do appreciate that you did. With all that support it won't be long now that you will be back at the studio doing what you love. Take your time, though. Rest. Hugs, Deb

Hilary, so glad you blogged. So glad you have your DH and friends to care for you. So glad you have Nurse Roy to attend to your cuddle needs. Perhaps you could take one of your favorite small weavings and caress it or sleep with it or just keep it around so you can feel like you are weaving or at least close to weaving. You are getting better and our prayers are being answered. Sue

Be patient, oh Hilary, be patient. Not your strong suit, I know, but there's always time to develop a new skill. :-)

You sound better and better with each update. And, it sounds like you're surrounded with love and caring. Just what you need for healing. Take good care of yourself. Weaving time will be here before you know it. :-)

Nurse Roy looks very comfortable. Dreaming of a loom is the beginning. You are so good at taking care of yourself and you have been so brave. Rest is just the right thing...and it takes as long as it takes, right? Every time you close your eyes and rest, your body is being restored a bit more...like a cake in the oven...soon you will spring back and there will be no stopping you once again!

It is so good to hear from you! I have been checking every day. You are beginning to sound better but patience will pay off. Sleep, rest and take it easy for now. I am glad you have family and friends to care for you but Roy may have to best TLC to offer. Unconditional love from "woman's" best friend.

Thanks for the update, Hilary. Like others, I check your blog every day hoping to hear how you are doing, and hoping you are doing well. Awwww, that Roy Boy makes a good nurse. Who wouldn't get better with such a loving and handsome boy to snuggle with?! Take care and be oh, so good to yourself. Your body has a lot of healing to do but it will come. Sending warm thoughts to you.

I'm like the others, I check every day to see how you're doing. So glad to hear from you! Roy is doing an awesome job of holding you down. He's a good nurse. Bless his heart. Good that you have so many around you that love you and are caring for you - you're very blessed. Take it easy my friend. Your body will let you know when things are ok again and you can once again throw that shuttle and make those beautiful creations you're so good at.
Be careful, take care, and do be patient as we all want you back 100%!
Good thing you're a strong person!
Always,
Martha
