Crazy as a Loom

All frills.

This morning, I had to stop at a friend's house, to feed her cats while she is away.
When I pulled up, this is what I saw.
Not the best picture, with my phone.
But it's Humptey.........remember Bubbalee?????
It's her baby.  His dad is Bunnynose.......which is evident.

He watched me until I got out of the car, and then he disappeared, hiding until I left.   It's what he always does.

I was smitten with her new mixer, so I had to show you.
I love the color!

Someone asked me what I was knitting.  Well, I have been a little obsessed with 'frilly scarves'.
The first ones I made were made with Premier "Starbella', but then I moved on to Katia 'Triana Lux'.
They are wicked fun to make, and I am putting them in the shop at a wicked reasonable price.

My mother actually asked me if these were warm............duh.

Nope, they are just fun.  Frilly and fun.  That's it.
Oh, and colorful, too.
Which is very necessary in February.

But my most recent addiction, since yesterday's visit to  Cacklin' Hens, in Middlebury, Vt. is this 'Molly'
scarf.

My daughter took a liking to a sample scarf they had there, and I bought the pattern, and she picked out yarn.

Here is what I knitted so far, but since taking this picture, I ripped it all out and started over.  It is a repeat of four rows, but if you don't pay attention, it ends up not looking right.
See my mistake, about half way up on the right????
Nope, don't like it.
Rip it out.
Start over.
That's my motto.

I can't post the instructions, unless I want to get arrested for copyright infringement.
But if you emailed me .......?

It is also wicked addictive, and I am sure I will be searching my yarn stash for my next one.
I am trying to be VERY DAMN GOOD to myself.
I am accepting that this is a difficult time for me.
And if I'm not taking care of me, then who is???
So Roy and I took a mega walk in the sun today.

And now I am knitting and drinking a cold glass of Pinot Grigio.

Be good to yourself today.  Just because.

What inspirations!...and thanks for the picture of the little one...they are so lucky you were in their lives to be their guardian angel..and still are :-)

Hang in there....I believe one day you will say - remember that winter I had with that wicked headache - I wish it to be just a memory for you.

I love that mixer too, wouldn't it inspire you to get in the kitchen and put it to work! I know I would!

You know I love cats in windows. He's a cutie. I took a few shots like that myself, today. I'm starting to knit again but won't be showing anything for some time. I love that new scarf you are knitting and your daughter's choice of colours are very nice. Love the brown shades. It is so cold here today I took a very short walk with Kane. He doesn't like the cold too much anymore. He is aging quickly...going on 12. Hugs, Deb

I love the yarn pattern your daughter picked out, especially in the color the model is wearing. It's very distinctive. And yes, I would have ripped it out too. Wondering if I could do this? I should make the attempt. Especially since it's "wicked addictive". Love the mixer, too.

LOVE the scarf you are knitting. I am going to inquire at my LYS(Or call them at the shop in Middlebury) about the pattern. Thanks for the link to the yarn shop. Another place to visit. Maybe a trip without DH is in order. He's very patient, but there are only so many stops I can ask him to make...there are only so many parts catalogs in his truck! The frilly scarves are so much fun. You sure made alot of them! You are always full of inspiration! Hope your day is a good one.

Hi Hilary,

I'm in need of some advice on tying up a counterbalance loom. If you get a chance can you stop by my blog and tell me where to go. For advice, that is. ;-)
