Before the headache

Not  long ago, the Times Union, the main newspaper in Albany, NY, called me about doing an article for their magazine, called Life at Home.
Two people came, on different days.
First the photographer came, and took LOTS of photos.  And he wanted to do a video.
ACK!!!!
But I agreed, after all, who in their right mind turns down FREE PRESS???
Not I.

Several days later, the writer showed up, and interviewed me.  The article will appear in the January issue of Life at Home.
But today, I got an email, telling me the video is on their Facebook page.
So without further ado, here is ME, before the freaking headache, looking and acting normal.
Well, normal for me.
So stop complaining that I never post pictures of myself.
This oughta last you a long time.
Jokes aside, he did a great job.

What a blast! You have a very natural television presence...time for a PBS show. :) I love that the cats made the cut, too!

Very well done! What?... no Sydney in the credits?!

Gosh, that was fantastic Hilary! You are a natural and it was so fun to hear your voice and "see" you in person. You truly are a master of your craft and it was so much fun to learn more about it. ~Lili

Enjoyed that, Hilary. You make it all look so simple but I know it takes a lot of practice. If you were nervous it didn't show. You are a natural. Kitties did so well, too. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Fabulous movie and so nice to see and HEAR you too. Looks easy enough although I can see that a great deal of preparation goes into getting the loom and the socks ready for use. Thanks for sharing this with us! Loved it.

ooooooo, i love it,
what a wonderful treat to see you in action on a Solemate Sock rug (spelling???)
and Sydney's gorgeous face at the end....
i could do that kinda weaving, lovely and chunky and colourful and warm and inviting and not too much worrying about complex patterns,
you have given me another "thing to do" in my life.
hope that headache is getting sorted for you...

Very impressive ~ and great to see you "in person!" Your hair looks f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s.

PBS SHOULD do a special on you, wouldn't that be a hoot? Nice to see the kitties as an integral part of the work process, loved the "kitty pretties" in the opening shot...loved the video!

Glad to hear that you do finally have an answer to the headache ~ keep us posted. Do you think it might be dealt with before Christmas?

Hilary, I LOVE this!! And now I can put a voice to the face! What a great video... also fun to watch how those rugs are made, it takes A LOT of work!...

I can see the PBS special now, wouldn't that be wonderful? Congrats to you - this is such a nice thing to be a part of.

Oh, I loved this video, Hilary. You sound just like I thought you would. It's so fun seeing people in real life (well, sort of real life here) that I've been writing to and reading for years. Bravo!

(Love that the kitties are also in this).

For all this time, I've been reading about Soulmate Sock rugs, and I never put it together that they're actually MADE from socks! I loved watching this, hearing you, and I agree with everyone else ... you are a natural. The kitties are the icing on the cake.

I have wondered how the string of socks became a rug. If I were closer, I would love to have lessons. Love the colors and the kitties. Hope you are feeling better. Ruth Ann

Love the music. Love the kitties. Love your video 'presence'--you are a natural! And now I finally 'get' how you make your gorgeous sock rugs. I will have a whole lot of room in my brain now that I don't have to puzzle that out for myself. Speaking of brains--hope you get some good news soon about yours, and hope a fix is in the works in no time. ;o)
