This has been a busy week, lots of orders, and that makes me happy. Have to pay for the porch, don't you know.
I have one more order to do, and then, with any luck, I am going to spend a week outside. My yard needs lots of attention, and I love to garden and get dirty.
When I get a few rugs finished, I take them off the loom, and put them, all rolled up, on the kitchen counter. I sit here and tie fringe, and then go back to the loom and start all over again.
I ALWAYS have help with the fringe.

Sometimes, Miss Sydney Sue is a little intrusive. I try to warn her that if her tail gets tied into the fringe, she might be taking a trip to Dallas.

But does she listen?? Not hardly.
Instead, she tries to smooze me.

Now tell me, how can you be angry at this face??
I am trying to weave the black warp off a loom, so I can warp it for my next order. I used up all the black denim I had, so I had to use something else for weft.
How about some red???

Then I got a little crazy......I know. I don't really like this one. But like my late friend Shirley used to say, "tacky people have money, too". She didn't say it in a mean way, she just wanted me to know that even if I didn't like a rug, someone else would.

This one is much more to my liking.

And now, I am lounging on the couch, and I have no intention of doing another thing today.
So there.
Call me lazy. I don't care.
Soon, soon, pictures of the FINISHED porch.

You lost me at warp and wheft. But I love the rugs, and can't wait to see the porch!!
What is it with the cat thing? My cat Polly is fascinated with the rug hook I use when I tie fringe. If there is a rug, or roll of rugs anywhere around, there is a cat lounging on it. ALWAYS.
Oh yes! The last rug is good! Very sellable.
It's hard to be mad at a pet, isn't it. They just hold our heart in their paws.

I can't wait to see more pictures of the porch! The rugs are lookin' good....and Ms. Sydney is too!
Oh, the porch! Love the rugs. Your cat is as fat as mine! Now I don't feel so bad ;0)
I have missed you. And your fat kitty. And your occasional tacky rug.
* snort *
Not that I've ever seen a tacky rug here until today, mind you.
The last rug is terrific. How long is it?
My cat gives me that face, too. I can get so aggravated with her, and then she rubs her soft fur against me and purrs, then gives that face...and all is forgiven.
Beautiful work ... and it looks like you have quite the helper! :-) Sounds like the porch will be done in time for you to enjoy it during the summer!
All rugs are loved by someone, hey? Your kitties add humor to your posts, and I imagine you would really really be lonely without them in your studio!

Love the rugs!!! LOVE the kitty. Always nice to have help tying the fringe, no? Your rugs are seriously lovely. I can only hope to pull something off my loom looking like that one day. My loom will collect dust til the first frost I'm afraid.
Oh for the love of Pete...put the kitty on a diet! I don't think she can bend. And I love the red rug.
I feel you pain on the constuction, still in the midst of mine too!
I love your rugs! Even the red one! Just discovered your blog - I'll be back! V.

OK I've read enough now that I just gotta ask...what does it mean to "warp" a loom???? Is it to have all those threads on it? Oh my I gotta find a place to go to see this being done. I am so darn curious. I live between binghamton and Utica NY area....where would I go to see weaving on loom? Oh that fat cat is precious!
