Hi, I'm Hilary, and I'm an addict.
No, seriously, I am.
I will never have enough looms.
Ever.
I tell myself, no more. This is enough. I swear I will not buy another. Then it happens. I find myself surfing the web for them. They are everywhere you know. Looms for sale. And most of the time, I just look. Oh, OK, sometimes, I lust.
But then there's that ad that I keep going back to. I email for more information. I tell myself that I am just curious. I know that isn't the truth. But I tell myself that anyway.
Fast forward to today.
DH and I left the house at 6:30am.
Can you hear strains of "On the road again, I can't wait to be on the road again".
I tell DH that I just KNOW he loves these road trips, these spontaneous adventures.
He gives me the 'look'.

It was a gray day, but at least it wasn't storming.
There were geese everywhere, coming home to the north country, proof positive that spring is near.

The destination was mid state NY. If you have never been to NY, you might not realize how much of it is rural, how much of it is farmland.

There were many, many old barns like this.
And there was a lot more snow there, than there is in the northeast part of the state, where we live.

Of course, the whole time, I was responsible for looking out the sun roof to make sure that what we had strapped to the top was still there.

You might be wondering why I took my Hyundai Santa Fe to pick up a loom, and didn't take my husband's pick up. Well now, there's a reason for that.
I hesitated to tell my husband that in fact, I wasn't picking up one loom, I was picking up TWO looms. Oops.
So we WOULD have taken the truck, had HE KNOWN.
Thus, many loom parts tied down with bungees, to the top of my car.

Look, sweetie, isn't that a lovely view??
Nope, he wasn't impressed.
I believe he thinks I am crazy, anyway.
Who else would be taking hundreds of shots through the window while driving across the state of New York.

But even without the sun, I was loving it.
And if some are a tad blurry, you can blame the driver.

Tomorrow, I'll be putting the looms together, I can't wait, I tell ya. I'm jonesin' this minute.

I'm jealous. I have been looking for a second loom for months now, there are just not as many around here I guess. The ones that I hear about aren't being used, but they are "family heirlooms" that won't be given up.... makes me sad that they are not being used.
I've been to the rural parts of New York and it is beautiful. Love the music on your blog! Thanks for taking us with you and I can't wait to see your looms!
Ooooh, whadya get! I can't wait to hear about it! I am getting a "new" used loom soon too, but I don't have room for the old one so I am going to have to sell it. I would say "Just say No!" but don't "say no!" because I like the pictures. :)

I think you know just who else would be crazy enough to take photos through the window of a moving vehicle and she shares your name. Congrats to you for your new looms. And you know I'm not a big fan of music on webpages.. except for yours. Your choices are always tops.
That photo with the diesel truck and the red light - I fell in love. What a great catch!
On the looms, please know that the very experience you are having it something unique to your geographic region, and so I say, please enjoy your privilege. I tell people that looms are east of the Mississippi. Bad news for shipping.

You tease us so, we want to see pics of the Looms! We want to know what kind they are, what their names are. Really!!! We live vicariously with anyone on a road trip to pick up a loom or two!
