and the winner is.......

I think one of the best parts of blogging, is that it makes me pay attention to my life.

It fosters gratitude, and deeper thought, to write about my daily routine.

Here's part of a custom order that Lois has been working on.   They are going to be mats for inside of a car.

Things in my house are either things that I use all the time, or things that make me happy to look at.
They have to be one or the other, or they are gone.
I am brutal about it.

My daughter gave me this, and I love it.
You put water in it, then a few drops of essential oil......I like lavender......

It diffuses a lovely fragrance into the house, and changes colors. .  When it runs out of water, it shuts off.

I did some reading this afternoon.........
I had company.
All four critters.

This is what I am reading.

Tonight we went out for pizza.........

The Stella was mine.....DH doesn't drink at all.

The pizza was to die for.

And we stopped at Barnes and Noble, where I picked up one of my fave magazines........

Now............

The winner of the handwoven dish towel is MARIA HANSON.   Please email me with your address: crazyasaloom@aol.com

I wish I could send a towel to ALL OF YOU who commented.
Please know that your words touched me deeply.

Thank you, for the support and encouragement.  It means SO much.

Congratulations Maria!

Hilary, that pizza looks divine! Of course, I haven't eaten pizza for quite some time, because I am trying to lose weight and staying away from my trigger foods. Pizza tends to make me want to eat way too much, I have no shut off valve. (That and ice cream)
Those weaved car mats are interesting. Here they would turn into a muddy mess. I would never put something that cool down to get all mudded up!
Looks like you had good company to read with. Everyone looks so comfy cozy!

I love the first line in this post -- "I think one of the best parts of blogging, is that it makes me pay attention to my life." I totally agree. You inspire me to start blogging again. Thanks, Hilary!

A while ago I purchased a beautiful hand-made piece of artwork for my living room...it's a quote from William Morris: Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

It works for me.

Congratulations to the winner! What a beautiful surprise.

I only have two animals that I have to scoot around...the dog on the floor, the cat on the back of the couch. It seems that where I am in the evening, they have to be close enough to touch. I love them both, but they are shedding like crazy because of the warm weather and I am constantly brushing off my projects. LOL

And that pizza? My mouth is watering...and I just ate dinner!

I started blogging to give myself a break from my life. When things are bad, not everyone wants to hear about it. I didn't really have anyone read for the first year and I was okay with that. At least I was quieting my soul. Now, I have "met" several wonderful, amazing people that I consider friends. They worry when I don't post, give me advise on how to keep my sanity and they hold me in their hearts. I am forever grateful.

Have a wonderful week, Hilary.
