Oh, my, it is cold. Cold to the bone.
The sun tried to shine today, but it didn't make me feel much warmer.
I will be glad when January is over, cause spring is easier to glimpse from February.
This was the only color to speak of out there. But my, isn't he a beauty.
He does dress up that white stuff, doesn't he?
The Mrs. was over closer to the window, at the other feeder.
Excuse me, were you talking about me?
Lots of these little guys out there.
I love watching the birds, can you tell?
Feeding them just makes me happy.
I liked this shot, because you can see the red in her tail, and her wings.
I was still a little giddy today. My success with the countermarche loom yesterday was a long time coming, and it was the best gift ever. I gloated a little, sat right here on this bench, and wove the first rug this poor loom has seen in a long, long time.
A 4'x6' Adirondack Lodge Rug.
It is interesting that even though I hate January, so far I am loving it.
All in your perspective, right?
I couldn't remember how much warp I put on the CB, since I did it over a year ago. But then I wondered if I had blogged about it, so I did a search.
Sure enough, I did. I did a whole post here, and as I expected, I did happen to mention that I put 40 yards on. So that means that I should be able to get about 12 or 13 rugs, 4'x6', out of it.
Sounds like a plan doesn't it?
Right now, I am planning a frozen feet trip to the hot tub, followed by flannel pajamas, a hot cuppa tea, and some knitting. And maybe a cookie.
Stay warm!

Hilary I have no idea where you get the energy to do all that you do, you're making me LOOK bad, woman! ... the lodge rug is another masterpiece of well-blended colors - Have to say I am coveting Connie's new rug -
These pictures are gorgeous. Here in north Georgia, the snow and ice we've had this week have made the birds come to our feeders in droves...I have been wishing for a good camera and the know-how to use it so I could get pictures just like the ones in this post...!
Thanks for sharing.
Love your bird pictures. We put a bird feeder in the backyard, but for some reason the birdies aren't interested! Must be finicky birds up here in the UP.
Nice rug! It's funny that you were able to look up how much warp you put on your loom last year on your blog.
Your bird pictures are amazing!!!!!!!
I like the look of your loom.. enjoy making the rugs.
Is that a Greek Honey cookie you are thinking about ? lol

What great photos of cardinals! I really miss seeing them. When we were living in Texas we had two cardinals that came to our feeders every day.
Your CM loom looks familiar-aren't they the best rug looms? I'm loving mine! I'm looking forward to seeing the rugs that you create.
Stay warm!
That little bird is a chipping sparrow.. If you hear his song ~ chip-chip-chip you will know he is near. I've gotten to learn so many bird songs that I don't have to really see them I just know them by hearing them...
Have a great day~! ta ta for now from Iowa
I love the picture of the birds on your page.Such colors flowing ,I see the same colors in your rug or fille rye as we in Norway call it.
A rag-rug for we cut our old clothes into rags.
Yes, it's a little sparrow. And I love your birdy shots here, Hilary. So glad you're goals for the month have been accomplished. Good on you!
I love your blog site. So nice to see your weaving place and your happy loom.
Congratulations on besting the countermarche loom. I've always thought I need to do that too, but then my attention wanders. It's beautiful, as are the rugs.
