Finding meaning

Black feathers relate more the to soul than other colors of feathers. When you find black feathers, it means that the guardian of your soul is near. The feathers are there to remind you that you don't fight your battles of darkness in life alone. When you find a black feather, give thanks to your gurardian for being there to protect you always.

Yesterday, during a whiffle ball game at my middle daughter's birthday party,  I found this feather.........

At first I didn't hear it, but today it spoke volumes.

Just so you don't miss out....I want to share with you, my fave summer sandwich, right up there with a fresh tomato sandwich.
You can use any bread, but I used a crusty white.
Hellman's mayo on one side, creamy peanut butter on the other, slices of fresh cucumber in the middle.
A little salt and pepper, OH MY.
Trust me, it's delicious.

Better hurry, summer's almost over.

I've never heard that about a black feather.

The sandwich....you can have mine. I'll stick w/ PB and banana.

PB and Mayo are GREAT sandwiches, the cukes add some crunchy, I'll have to try that.

I can't imagine it but I'd give it a try. My hubby makes peanut butter & banana sandwiches with mayo on them - can't quite see that either. Maybe I'll get him to try this one.....

Thanks for the nice comments today, Hilary. You have to go to Newfoundland...you must. Peanut Butter? I'm a big fan of the cucumber sandwich but I have never added ph. Must try that when I feel 'daring'.

Hilary, I had forgotten all about this after school snack (that's usually the time of day we scarfed it) which my grandma used to make for me. Ohhhh, what a memory lane is this one!

And now...it's all your fault that I have to go make one RIGHT NOW!!!! :>/

That sandwich looks divine. I love your pictures and wonder what kind of camera you are using. Maybe you can mention it in some post or other. I'm in the market for a new one...

Hilary, the sandwich looks good but mayo and peanut together...not sure I can do that. Love your new front porch picture.

Yumm! I grew up on pb and mayo sandwiches, and my gran gave us cukes and mayo on white bread in the summer in NH. So perfect for hot days. I like to add lettuse to my pb & mayo for some crunch. Dont knock it till you try it!

I have NEVER heard of this combination..I love all the ingredients, but together? Really? If you say it's so.. then it's so.

Hellmans, the ONLY mayo, in my opinion :-)

Ok so I actually tried one of these sandwiches...hm. It was not bad at all, but maybe you had to grow up with it to truly appreciate it. I did enjoy the cucumbers in a sandwich. I must say There is something appealing about bread salt pepper and cucumbers. Hold the peanut butter for me please.

Welcome to my world.
