Crazy as a Loom

Sunday, October 2, 2011

Sunday is for rest.

For the first time in a very long time, I took the whole day off.  I needed it mentally, so I did it.

I took Roy for a 4 mile walk, and then I enjoyed the quiet of being alone in my house, since my middle daughter took my mother to church, to lunch, and shopping.
You have no idea how sweet it is to be in your house alone, if that is a rarity.
No TV playing, the only noise is the tick tick tick of the dryer.
Have I died?  Gone to heaven??
I ate cheese and crackers, drank tea, knitted.  Roy slept on the couch next to me, tired after our speed walk.
Normal things, quiet endeavors. Usually doesn't happen in my house.  So I savored the time.

Yesterday, DH and I caught a couple of garage sales, in the pouring rain.  We made a point to only go to ones that were being held in the garage.
I took a chance, and bought this quilt for $3, and didn't bother to unfold it to inspect it.
Brought it home, washed it, dried it, and threw it on my bed.

What do you think?  Did I do good, or what???

It is in perfect condition....not a thread loose, and not a mark anywhere.  I love it.
And Roy loves it.

I am chillin' today.  Letting my mind catch up to the rest of me.
Thinking about Maine.

I truly need to make it up to Maine sometime. I am always enthralled by people's photos taken there.

I do love the old quilts that are just that simple - squares from other things. Repurpose is the trend and that quilt is pre-trend.

Welcome to my world.
