Have a cookie.

Today was the first day of the Christmas in the Country. It was a beautiful, sunny day for the first week of December, and there were a lot of people out. The studio looked awesome, thanks to my daughters who came and cleaned and reorganized last weekend, , my DH who put up lights, and painted the new window, and did countless other things; my good friend, Alice who cleaned the porch for me, and who vacuumed and mopped to save my poor, aching back. and to my friends, Gayle and Linda, who helped me stock the shelves with Christmas crafts they made.
This is Mrs. Olsen. You can't see her under all her garb. She is wearing a silk-wool poncho, and a silk-wool shawl, a silver scarf, and a funky blue neck wrap.
Mrs. Olsen is a dress makers form. Don't tell her that.

See how those Greek honey cookies glisten?? Honey....lots of honey. Lord, they are good.
It is a good thing that today was sunny and calm. Yesterday, I couldn't do a thing right.
Or so it seemed.
I was in the process of emailing a wholesale customer about a bill they owed me. It was a few months past due, and I was getting annoyed. I emailed them, again, and they said they were mailing me a partial check, which would be the second one. I said, what????second check????? I didn't get the first check. But before I went ballistic, not liking being lied to, I called the bank. To be sure, just in case I was losing my mind.
Nope, they said. You didn't get a check from them in November.
Then yesterday afternoon, a check came in the mail, with a copy of the first check, and there it was, clear as day, MY signature on the back of it.
Ever hear that phrase, eating crow????
Yes, that is what I did. Ate crow. And it is just about as tasty as it sounds.

Then, if that weren't enough, I totally teed off my oldest daughter. We were on the phone, I was busy, and I said something that rubbed her the wrong way. I didn't mean it, but you know that other phrase??? Open mouth and insert foot?????
OH YEAH.

But no, I wasn't done yet......heck, when you are on such a roll, why slow it down???
So I went home, and proceeded to tell my mother how she embarrassed us the night before at the local diner.
And her response was tears, and "you don't love me", " you don't even like me", and "I don't know what you're talking about". At which time, I tried to "fix" the conversation, which was going right downhill at an alarming rate.

Whew.
My husband just sat in his chair and looked at me like I was drowning, but there wasn't a thing he could do to save me.

So soothing Celtic Christmas music, with a little Ottmar Liebert thrown in, sunshine pouring through every window, the occasional lovely sound of the cash register, surrounded by looms I love, and beautiful things everywhere......well, that is just what I needed.
Breathe.

Hopefully, I will be forgiven, on all fronts.
Tomorrow, day 2.

Sounds like maybe you have been eating too much sugar and it's messing with your brain. BACK AWAY FROM THE COOKIES..... NOW! You shouldn't make your mama cry. Now go give her a big hug and say you're sorry.

Nice to meet you, Mrs. Olsen... make Hilary behave please.

Well, Momma said there would be days like this......
The cookies, though look terribly yummy as does the studio.
I'm sure you will have gotten back into everyone's good graces by the time you read this. Go give your Mum a hug though. You'll both feel better for it.

Ahhh yes, you gotta make the Momma happy, you know the saying: If Momma ain't then NOBODY is happy! See??? It's true!

Your studio looks great and here's to much success for the weekend sales... I just love your way of displaying your items. Very cozy and colorful and comfortable~!!

I like Mrs Olsen, is she from Norway or? Well why don´t you try to talk to her first before you say something you are going to regret. I often talk to the mirror first before I get angry at someone. I have to test the arguments first so why don´t you use Mrs Olsen for that? And you know to morrow is another day...

Welcome to my world.
