Trippin

A few of you mentioned that you would have no problem "relaxing" in that spot overlooking the lake.
Unfortunately, that was a place I visited, not where I live.
If I did live there, I would never leave.
You can bet that next spring I will be kayaking there.

Pictures to follow!

These photos are just ones I took along the way.
I take a lot of pictures, of anything that moves me.
Like this little trailer.  Why the heck fix the roof?
We'll just build this over the top.

I have always loved old barns.  My old barn had a roof like this.  I loved the way it looked, unfortunately the water ran through it like a sieve.

Some people prefer this.  Newly made, purchased as a package, and constructed on your site.

This is more my style.
A barn with history.  Personality.

The house is for sale,  and it is right on the brook, as well as right on the road. Problem is, the brook is about 60 ft straight down an embankment behind the house.
I now look at everything that could cause a fall.   Not so long ago, I would have just been scrambling down there, thinking I was invincible.
Huh.
I know better now.

There were a few places that looked like they were straight out of the movie "Deliverance".
Please stay in your car.

Speaking of cars..........this one caught my eye.  It has seen better days, but I love it.

Several of you asked about the doctor.  Did I call him?
Well, actually, I had his email address.  He told me to email him with any concern.
So I did.  And he said, "it's too soon to panic.  Give it some more time.   If the intense headache persists, we will do an MRI, but I think it will resolve on its own."

After a sluggo day yesterday, and not much more today, keeping a VERY low profile, my headache does seem to have lessened considerably.
I did try massaging my head, (thanks Susan and Bruce) but I have to do it very carefully.  The back of my head is still incredibly sensitive.

So I am heeding the message, even though it has been 11 weeks, that just may be too darn soon to expect a full recovery from a very traumatic surgery.
I have to back up, and pay attention.  When I do, what I see is truly marvelous.

Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way:
on purpose,
in the present moment,
and nonjudgmentally.

Hmmm. Hilary.... have you given any thought... to selling both of your homes... and buying just one, wherever you want that to be... Maine?.. just down the road a piece in a country farm house without the steep bank creek..lol... that has room for a studio for you to carry on whatever part of Crazy As A Loom that you want to carry on. Maybe you could use a barn on the (new) property). The cats could move to the new "studio"... and you don't have to commute at all, and you only have to worry about the upkeep of one residence. Just a thought.

You sound better already. Now really really really LEARN TO BE STILL. (My favorite Eagles song.)

11 weeks is absolutely nothing in time after brain surgery...I know it seems like eternity to you but it is not. For every hour you were under for the surgery they say it takes 2 weeks to recover just for that!! I am surprised you can even hold your neck up already so please...take time to heal. And yes the hospital and doctor bills are high but you know you are worth it and thank goodness there are people so talented to do what they do.

Photos tell so much about us and yours always show a simple peaceful place. Maybe it is time to find that?

Can you afford a trip to the lake? Maybe you need a place where you have that view - to just sit and relax. Sending prayers for healing your way.

wise words from Paul & Art: slow down you move too fast, gotta make the morning last .. feeling groovy ..

and you will if you slow down .. xo

I learned, when our daughter passed away, to take notice of every day. Life goes by so fast and I don't want to miss a thing, especially nature and all it's beauty. Keep listening to your body and let time heal, XOXO

So good to hear of some improvement. Also good news that the dr doesn't think this is out of the ordinary. You can't hear it too many times, so I'll say it again as those above me have: slow down, be a slug. Enjoy doing nothing. Your life is too precious not to be as pain free as possible. And now a lot of it depends on you respecting your body's needs. Best wishes,

Becky

I am glad you are taking it easy and giving yourself a chance to heal and that you contacted the dr. to get his take on the headache. I like the idea of heading off to the lake (or anywhere that there is water to view). There is nothing that brings me more peace than sitting and looking at a body of water (I prefer lakes but rivers or ocean will do). I wish you peace and healing.
Hugs,
Rose

I went in for surgery a couple of years ago. When I went back for a follow up with him this young doctor says to me "you are not as young as you used to be"
I about decked him....I thought I am only 40 years old, thank you very much!
Jerk.
But he was right. I got better.

Lovely photos ! I am glad your headache is subsiding , it will take some time to recover fully from what you have endured that's for sure but just take your time . I find when I am not feeling well or a bit down and out relaxing with all the nature around me taking photos is wonderful therapy makes me feel so much better ! Hope you can find something to help you cope in the recovery stage !

As always... thinking of you and hoping only for the best of days ahead for you. Maine does sound awesome by the way. (speaking from someone who has spent all of two hours there)

While its not brain surgery... my hip replacement recovery was a 3 month affair before things started to turn the corner. I was told it would take a full year to feel 100% again and it was true..
I think after being sidelined from life for so long, we are eager to resume it again... and despite acknowledging the healing time, we want to rush things a bit! Understandible... but as my Dr said "it will take 12- 24 weeks, or 3 to 6 months.... you choose"
That was 11 years ago on Nov 7th!
Amazing how time flies...

Big hugs from Susan and Bruce

I have followed your blog long enough to know this isn't your nature, but have some patience. Your poor body has been through so much---it was probably worn out just from being in so much pain for so long before you even had your surgery. You are up, moving around and easing back into your routine---I think you are doing great. You still get more done in a day than I accomplish in a whole week!

Brenda.

I was praying that is what the doc would tell you. 11 weeks isn't very long, unless I was walking in your shoes. Hoping for a great tomorrow for you.

Someone just sent me an email with this quote, and it made me think of you and your struggles. Hang in there. Get well soon.

Pleasure is not a reward. Pain is not a punishment.
They’re just ordinary occurrences.

Patience is not my virtue either - a doctor once told me that it can take up to a week for every hour you are in surgery just for the anesthesia to be full your of your system, and THEN that is when the real healing starts.

I don't know if this has any scientific backing, but I have found that letting myself believe it helps me have patience in my recoveries.

Daydreaming, or maybe planning(?) for a move to new peaceful place might be a good way to pass the time as you heal. Wishing you all along the way.

Giving oneself time to heal completely is incredibly difficult for most of us. After my shoulder surgery I asked the physical therapist about swimming again. He told me I was not even allowed to try for 12 months! There would be days when everything felt fine, and days when everything hurt. And a few days before the one year mark, I swam 2 laps, and it was wonderful. Out of shape, muscle achy, but wonderful. It will come for you too, but allow yourself some time. 11 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

And thanks for the "Deliverance" comment. Brought back a happy memory about my late daughter. We'd gone to look at some piglets (4-H project for her and her best friend). The other mom took one look at the house and said "If someone steps off that porch with a banjo, I am so out of here!" Still makes me smile.

That was a very pleasant picture tour you gave to us. Thank you. Don't over do it. Slow down about smell the flowers.

Because of their use of clone host fakes the gods have created a blameless society where nobody takes responsibility for the destruction which has occurred.
The BODs, CEOs and wealthy are fakes fresh out of high school, the gods no longer push anyone into it and instead used temptation, and the result is devistation the gods won't "make up" to the disfavored anymore.

The antients used Christinaity to initiate the "Beginnning of The End". Along the way they used it to initiate other tools which they will use to further mankind into decay and towards the Apoocalypse:::USA, "democracy", capitalism/corporations.
Of the tools they have used, religious, political, economic, social is by far the most damaging and seems reserved for those who have experienced each tactic:::
The god's social tool promoted moral decay, whether sexual, behavioral, professional, etc. It created an enviornment where indecency is the norm.

The dogs are dead.
And they're still incurring evil from their prior life(ves).
Junior Seau is a good example::The real, a 20-something in her next life, making progress, so the gods allow her clone host fake to committ suicide, allowing her off the hook incurring evil in her prior life. AND close the restaurant, her legacy in capitalism.
Al Davis should be so lucky.
The antient's leaders, politicians, celebrities, corporate executives, scientists/professionals are clone host fakes, fresh out of high school who woudln't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Without the gods doing their jobs THROUGH THEM they'd only be good for playing with themselves.

There was a very real perception that bi-racial was much worse for the white than it was for the person of color. The liberal culture, which was designed and promoted with the god's tools to achieve their Apocalyptic goals, screamed racism when there was a very reasonable explanation for this reality::::
In this white punishment known as the United States the person of color has already adopted the disfavors/temptations intended for another race. But by associating/mating with a person of color the white is newly adopting the disfavors of another culture.
And this is the reason why people of color are not welcome in the United States. The gods control everything:::The perception they want to create, the thoughts they want you to have.
People of color can't recover from absorbing the temptations from two cultures. And why they become more and more like so many blacks in America:::Veterans at absorbing the temptations of two cultures.
To further illustrate this is why California's educational system/funding was ranked #1 when California was white:::Education being the basis of the affluent economic system. Now even public higher education has become unaffordable.

The gods behave monsterously in the course of managing Planet Earth, matching our decay, but they demand people be good if you are to have a chance to ascend as a child in a future life.
Not only is doing the right things important (praying, attoning for your sins, thinking the right way:::accepting humility, modesty, vulnerability), so is avoiding the wrong things important as well:::"Go and sin no more".
You NEED active parents who share wisdom to have a real chance to ascend into heaven in a future life, and you MUST be a good parent as well to have that opportunity in your next life.
