Brrrrr.

Cold in the northeast..........the fire was roaring all day.

Miss Puss has something to say.

Uh, Miss Puss......

She's kinda dozed off, but I think she wanted to tell you to stay close to the fire.
She never gets too far away from it.
This girl likes to be WARM.
This is HER chair.
And NOONE sits in her chair.

After Physical Therapy late this afternoon, I headed for the grocery store.  I hate doing that, you just know it is going to be the worst time ever to be there.
But I had a plan for dinner, and I needed stuff.

I made some awesome cream of mushroom soup, with two kinds of mushrooms, the regular kind, and shitake.  I sliced up two bunches of green onions, and I chopped the mushrooms up pretty small.  I sauteed them both in a little EVO, added 1 box of Swanson's chicken broth, three vegetable bouillon cubes, about 2 cups more of water, a little roux, some garlic, salt, pepper, and a splash of half and half to cream it all up.   We had the soup with  grilled ham, cheese and tomato on crusty rye. (I left the ham out of mine)
It was delish, and perfect for a freezing cold evening.
I can tell it is good soup, when I hear the slurping.

The headache is still with me, but I can see that the PT is having an effect on it......worse right after I go, and then better the next day.  It is going to be a slow process, but so much better than having someone cut a hole in the back of my head.
I know I am feeling a little better, when I start day dreaming about what I am going to weave next.

How about some Chunky Forest Floor rugs??

I just love them.

Hope you are staying warm, wherever you are.  And eating lots of soup.

I woke up this morning with a headache ... and I thought of you as I stood on your bright colorful rug, gulping down some ibuprophen. My gosh if I had to deal with all you do day after day, I don't think I could do it. You are a strong, strong woman!

your soup sounds delish too....

What is the physical therapist doing? Working on your neck?

I bet that gal feels like velvet when you pet her. It's so cold here, too Hilary. Fire has been on all day. If they can't find a seat near the fire the pile up on top of each other. What a life! I noticed one of your followers asked what is being done for you at PT. I wondered, too. Glad you are getting some relief. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Happy New Year Hilary!
I'm catching up on blogs after being away since before Christmas. Loved the article and video about you and the shop!! Congratulations!
I'm still hoping like all of your other readers that your headache hits the highway and never returns. Good for you for getting a second opinion that can be a hard thing to do sometimes!
Give that Roy a big hug!

I went to the chiropractor last week after many months of needing to go. Yikes, what an overhaul! My chiro does a gentle manipulation, not the traditional, and it is so helpful. I need a follow-up very soon and hopefully I will be okay for a while. No more painting in this house. Someone else is going to have to pick up a brush or roller (probably a professional). I can't believe I've been reading your blog so long and hadn't even followed you.

Your mushroom soup sounds wonderful and I will be trying your recipe. If I like it, I might share it on my blog and call it something like Crazy Looming Woman Mushroom Soup, heh heh.

Really, it sounds divine.

I am so glad the PT seems to be helping. Any chance you can also get a regular massage or will that interfere with the PT?

It has been cold here in the southeast, too, but it is starting to warm back up. I love your chunky rugs! So bright and cheerful. Perfect for a cold and dreary day.

I'm making turkey meatball vegetable soup right this very moment!...

Do you know, on an episode of A Gifted Man the other night, a young girl was in a car accident and shortly after, started having debilitating pain in headaches, etc... turns out she had a Chiaria Malformation (I know that's spelled wrong)... the Dr on the show said "She's probably had it since birth, but the accident stirred it up". He did operate and she felt better immediately... but that's not the point. If you've never had an MRI before, perhaps you've had this condition all along and it was just "stirred up" when you fell. And will settle down again with time.
