whew.

This is where I've been working most of the week, weaving mug mats.   I would like to have a stash of them.

They are all different.  Every now and then, I will make a set of four that match, but it is totally on a whim.
I love them in this basket, they are so easy to flip through to find what you like.

The warp was multi colored, and I just finished it.
I immediately put on an off white warp, to make more.

I went to the neurologist today.
He confirmed what I have suspected, and what the second neurosurgeon said, that Chiari is NOT my problem.
His diagnosis is post traumatic headache from the fall I took, the concussion, and from the tension caused by whiplash.  He has prescribed 6 weeks of physical therapy on my neck.
I am relieved on one hand, and hopeful on the other.
But let's not think about headaches right now......it's Christmas for heaven's sake.

There are pies to make, and presents to wrap.
Ay yi yi.
A couple of days, and all the rush will be over.  That's just fine with me.

Those mug mats are so pretty. Well, I'm happy about the diagnosis and very hopeful for your lasting relief soon. Yes, ready or not here it comes and then it will be over in a flash. I'm just back with a trunk load of groceries and now I'm off to cat-sit. This is my busiest time of the year. I can only do it because my husband likes to take care of the Christmas dinner. Amen!
Have a wonderful holiday and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Give that Roy a big hug and all those hilarious cats that I so love to read about on your blog. Enjoy all those side dishes and a well-deserved drink of bubbly. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Can't tell you how happy I am to hear this diagnosis! The physical therapy should take you back to where you were before the fall.... if not even better than that.

The mug mats would brighten anyone's day! What a wonderful way to spend your time.

That's good news. This is something they can fix--and not with meds! Merry Christmas!

Ok, but I just have to say....WHY didn't one of the earlier doctors prescribe PT and you might have this behind you?
Ok now, back to Christmas. Enjoy your family time and your pies. I don't allow the season to take over my life so we are very low key around our house. I mentioned fudge today and now I feel a commitment to make that for my honey. And he already bought all the groceries for it so it's pretty hard to back out. Hopefully I can limit my own self and let him eat most of it:-) Merry Christmas.

I am SO glad you didn't go with the first diagnosis. Imagine having such risky surgery and still having the pain because that wasn't the problem. Not to mention new pain because of the surgery. This is good news. I hope PT will start for you soon.

So glad you got a diagnosis and plan for treatment. I love reading your blog and absolutely love the pictures. Looks like a lovely spot to spend the day working away.......and the mug rugs are beautiful - I just love the colors......they're so cheery and colorful!

Hilary, I am a physical therapist. I recommend that you find a therapist or chiropractor who does craniosacral therapy. I am so glad you do not have the serious condition...just off your tilt, girl...you will be alright with the right care and some time. Candace

Glad you got a second opinion! Hope all goes well with the therapy. I'm a huge believer in physical therapy and massage for healing. My daughter went to the high risk OB doctor and he was appalled that her neurologist had prescribed Depakote for a woman in childbearing years! So far everything looks well with the baby, but she is changing neurologists!
