6 bales of selvedge, each about 800 lbs or so.
This dumpster soon to be overflowing with waste.

Well, it turns out that there are about 100 bags of selvedge like this in the attic.

Overwhelmed? Who, me?
So today, the good fairy and I dragged about 30 bags of it down these stairs.

Out the back door, and up to the loft over the barn.
Except for 240 lbs of it that left via UPS.

They do make lovely rugs.

But the bottom line is that I won't live long enough to weave all this stuff, and I really need to simplify somewhat, to clear my head.
We made a lot of room in the attic, enough to put bags of heel strips up there, and clean up the old kitchen.
Whew.
I feel a little better already.
Weaving weekend coming up this weekend, and then I am taking a break.
Honest.
I'm thinking about a giveaway. Any ideas?
You know my brain is fried.

Hilary, Did you miss type? Are you thinking about a giveaway or a 'getaway'? I think you need a restful getaway...... Seeing the old back porch in that photo make a person appreciate the much nicer and larger new porch. Hope your weaving weekend is a memorable time for both teacher and students. Lois
What is the widest width you can weave a rug? Just curious. Looks like you worked your tail off today.. gah! Take it easy for heaven sakes.

I love your blog, but you make me tired! Or put me to shame...one or the other... maybe both. I think you need a getaway more than you need a give away.
You deserve a big break~! That's a lot of stuff to haul down those stairs.. I know how you feel because I just unloaded a ton of stuff from my sewing room.. It was a lot of work but so rewarding...I have my sewing room back now and I will actually be able to sew on a project here real soon.. Have other things to do before I get to sew. Take care of yourself and know that I'm rooting for you here in Iowa~! It's a good feeling to purge.. lol
OMG. How ever did you accumulate so much? But I bet it's awesome to have so much material to choose from.
A Jeans rug! You know I covet them.
Bet you hold the record for most "fabric strips".
Sure does work up beautifully in rugs!!!!!
maybe a getaway with your DH-you remember him don't ya ?
HAha to Anonymous....hummm wonder who that was! Oh they demand so much attention don't they? HEE! You do work hard....I make dollhouse miniatures and my materials are much lighter! HA! A getaway AND a giveaway sound like wonderful ideas! I think the most beautiful....bold earth tone shaggy rug for in front of the kitchen sink.....ahhhhhh wonderful...where I spend so much time.....
