I got an email today , that I have to share with you.
This keeps me doing what I do.
Hilary, At Christmas time I asked about your bamboo/silk scarves you had. My son made one for his Sunday school teacher and of course it was well received. He decided to make another one and enter it into the county fair. He made up his own design and we ordered the same bamboo/silk and a beautiful mercerized cotton for the warp. He ended up with the Grand Champion ribbon and Judge’s Choice!! His scarf is going to the State fair now!! (we are in Oregon) I wanted you to know all this happened because of your inspiration. Thank you for sharing and for blogging. My 11 year old son is already planning his projects for next year (he shows pigs too). Have a great day! Cami Paul

This just blows me away.
Takes me back to when I was starting out, and the only help I had were weavers that I 'met' online. They gave generously of their time, their knowledge, and their passion. Two of them came to be good friends.
I am happy to pay it forward.
I can't say that today was the most productive of days, but I did get some pictures of the table runners I wove off the Gallinger. They are 12" wide, two of them are 24" long, and two of them are 30" long.
Consistency is overrated IMHO.
And now I must run, I am reading The Bells, by Richard Harvell, and I can't put it down.
I know you understand.

A ribbon from the fair to show for all his hard work, how great! You are indeed an inspiration to many us both young and old. With on line friends to keep us inspired and weaving it gives me hope that our weaving heritage will not be lost.
The runners are pretty, consistency, hah, just say you planned them to be those lengths and who will be the wiser????
You all are so right!! Hilary is a great inspiration! I love the technology we have to help each other on completely opposite coastlines of the country. My son is thankful for all the kind comments on his scarf. Let's keep helping and inspiring each other!
