Roof shoveled off, leaking stopped.
Shed still caved in.
It's still winter, but oh my, at least it's sunny. I love walking into the studio and seeing this.......light everywhere.
But of course, all these looms are beautiful to me. Each of them has its own personality.
And of course every kitty has his/her own favorite sunny spot, and they are willing to stand their ground to keep it most of the time.
This rug was on the loom, woven a couple of weeks ago and I just forgot about it. When I was unrolling the rug I was working on, I realized that I still had it on the loom. This color combination is one of my favorites.
Or maybe the greens in this stack of totes waiting to be sewn will do the trick.
While I was driving to the studio this morning, I was thinking about how lucky I am to be able to do what I love every day. I was also thinking about how tempting it is to get caught up in the 'rewards'.....like a singer dreaming about hearing himself on the radio, or an artist wanting his work hung in a museum. That's where I disconnect. To me, all of that is a big vortex just waiting to suck you in.
I don't want fame. I don't even want fortune.
They would both bring more trouble than they were worth.
I do want to keep on weaving what I want to weave, and I want to keep on loving it. Every bit of it.
Every day.
So far, it's working.
Thanks for sharing it with me.

Gorgeous place and work. And wonderful kitties for company!
Oh yes, I just posted today about how the sun uplifted my spirits and gave me energy.
Those *waiting to be* bags are screaming out, "SPRING!" Love, love, love those colors. So happy and refreshing.
Especially love the sun-filled photos. Nice.
I want to weave, and I want to keep on loving it. Well said.
Seeing the beautiful wood and rugs touched by the lovely light makes me smile. What an explosion of color in the bags - so pretty!

The sun makes all the difference in the world!!! Sorry to hear about your roof troubles, I feel your pain!!!!
Thanks for a great post, Hilary! It sounds like you've discovered what makes your heart sing, and that's a priceless gift in this life.
Seeing your colorful creations makes me smile. Your studio seems so inviting. Maybe it's because you love what you're doing so much.
