Watching the little ones was the best part of all. Thank goodness for toddlers and babies.
It is bitter cold here, as it is in many parts of the country. I'm not a fan of this either.
God, I sound like the grinch. But I can't help it, the bitter cold makes me nervous. I'm always thinking that the power will go out, the pipes will freeze, yadda yadda. The chickens are barely laying an egg or two a day. It's just too cold.
I'm busy weaving on a 50 yard towel warp, all the while planning my next warp.
And I have some sewing to do, before I haul my Bernina 770 to the sewing center for its yearly maintenance. I have made a lot of quilts this past year, so it needs to go. And it's free, so I have no excuse.
I hate the cold SO Much, that I talked Lois into picking up a book for me at the library.......so I don't have to go.
After my bout with the flu, my first trip out of the house was to Benson's Pet Center, for the signing of John Gray's book, GOD NEEDED A PUPPY.
John is a local (Albany) TV weather man, and he has written this amazing book.
I bought one for myself, dedicated to Roy, and one for Dale, because she was having a hard time understanding that Roy wasn't coming back.
You can find him on FB, https://www.facebook.com/JohnGrayFOX23/
and you can find his book on Amazon.
His daily writing on FB is always good, inspirational, and makes you believe in the good in this world.
I highly recommend it.
Here is my towel warp.......I'm getting tired of a straight draw on a neutral background.
Remember these two..........
Where did the years go???
These Christmas gifts remind me of my mother.
Funny how holidays haven't been the same without her.
My sewing table has had the radish.........both ends fold down, and unfortunately, after a lot of use, it is just not stable anymore.
So I'm thinking of having this made instead.
What do you think???
Time for a cuppa tea.......and a digestive. If you've never had one, well, you haven't lived.

Ohhh, I DO like that table. Looks sturdy and perfectly useful. :-)
This Christmas was better for me since I have a six year old living in the house! It really is about the little ones, isn't it?
My daughter printed out a picture of my little pooch from last Christmas. I had lost her in May this year. She mad a little alter with all of her favorite things so she could join us opening Christmas presents which was the furbaby's favorite activity.
I cannot believe how grown up those two are! They are such beautiful young ladies!!!
I hope your New Year is better! I wish you a Happy New Year!!!
You know, you can probably find the components quite similar to that at IKEA. If one is close might be a little less on the wallet. Of course with the amazing building resources in your area, getting just what you want is wonderful too! Those grands grow way too fast!
oooh I love that work station! Do it, absolutely! I doubt you've have any regrets...
McVitie's digestives and pickled onions, mmmmm so yummy, and so British!
Your two young ladies are extremely elegant and growing up far too fast. And I love your weaving patterns, I would love to learn to do that.
Your grands are all beautiful. And a dream to be able to spend time with them.
For me? I'd prefer a table that wasn't always so big -- I like to have moveable options in my little house. But that is, indeed, a beauty, and if you can fit it comfortably, go for it!
Please pass the tea and the plate of digestives, ah now that is living. I love the idea for the sewing table, the storage is what intrigues me. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your beautiful Granddaughters, they are growing up far too fast. Stay warm!
its taken me far longer than usual to catch up on blog reading ... today i have no excuse, its below freezing here .. a whopping 18 degrees as i write this so i am not going anywhere ... love seeing your beautiful/handsome grands and those patterns on your weaving, when you scroll down the post they move ..
Your grand daughters are beautiful, they look like they have so much fun and giggles together. Your towels/weaving is just wonderful. As for the sewing table, I'd say if you have the room, go for it. I don't have a large enough table to work on and next time I need to spread out, husband promised to put together a large surface on saw horses in the basement. Oh well, better than nothing. ;)
Beautiful warps, your creations are most impressive !
Those two little girls have grown into young ladies, how precious :)
I'm drooling at the pickled onions and McVities chocolate digestive biscuits, mine are gone....sadly .
Here's wishing you a Happy New Year, with many blessings.
Hugs,
~Jo
The weather world has gone mad. Last year at this time we were buried under 5’ feet of snow and it’s been above 40 during the days for the past week, some days above 50, and the ski resorts are in full panic mode. Apparently our winter has gone to the East. I fear we’re facing a summer of water rationing. Wishing you happiness and health in the new year.
