I used my handy dandy yellow wheel barrow (money well spent, I tell ya') to pick up all the jeans that fell on the ground when the cable clothes line broke.
I hiked them up to the porch, moved the table near the electrical outlet under the window, and used my Eastman Chickadee cutter to cut all the jean tops off.
They were all still pretty
I know this looks a little redneck, but it is what it is.
Sydney says:
Redneck.
Well, they are all taken down now, so not to worry. It was a temporary thing.
I have kind of a confession to make. I have been a slug when it comes to exercising. For some time, actually. I would work at the studio all day, come home, have dinner, and couch it. I would spend the evening reading, blogging, working on my web site, knitting, whatever.
When it came to getting my butt out the door to walk, I had an excuse, always.
This hurt, that hurt, it was too hot, too cold.
I did have a legitimate reason not to walk when my plantar fascitis was raging, but I also didn't take the time to get something done to it, until I could hardly walk.
In the past year or so, when I did walk, they were pitiful ones, and Eddie gave me an excuse, because he was old, and got so tired, so quickly.
Then Eddie left us, hopefully for greener pastures. And something snapped.
In the almost two months we have had Roy, I have missed two days of walking him at least 3 miles. TWO. DAYS.
I look at his sweet face, bury my face in his neck while he sits on my lap and he tries to lick me, and there is no way that I am not putting his and my walk FIRST.
I no longer leave it until the end of the day without a plan. If I know that I am going to be busy in the evening, then I make time during the day.
I work my day AROUND it, instead of leaving it to chance.
One day a week, we walk 5 miles.
Does my titanium knee hurt?? Heck, yes. Sometimes my foot hurts, too, although it is almost perfect.
But once I sink my teeth into something, it's on.
And it's on. I find that the more I walk, the easier it is, and the more I love it. I look forward to it.
The challenge, of course, will be to keep walking when it is freezing out.
Check back with me. I am going to give it my best shot.
Hmm. Roy may need a coat.
And thanks for all your well wishes. I hurt, but I am healing.
You know me. Moving is the answer to just about everything.

Glad your moving. I know it is the best thing. I walk a lot, too.The last photo is stunning. I just love it. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4
It sucks having feet that hurt. I need a new pair of walking shoes... I think I keep each pair too long and the arches and padding break down. What kind do you wear?
You are such an inspiration. I wanna be just like you when I grow up. (Ha, I am at least 10+ years older than you are!) Anyway, you are sooooo right, I have two new knees and I say, "push, push, keep on keepin' on". I walk about 2 miles a day and will up it as time goes by. I love your kitty/doggie pix!
Continue to mend well.

Argh. Why did you have to remind me Hilary? I'm another one where my knee messed up and I quit walking. Walking actually makes it feel better now, but all I do is sit on the computer, and then sit some more.
Love all the denim in the photos and the cat photos are awesome!
maybe you and Roy could walk on a treadmill when the weather is bad?
We used to walk our overly energetic pug (yes, anomaly, I know) on the treadmill in the winter months. He loved it. Hard to squeeze a dog and a human on the same treadmill ~ we'd have to take turns. Or he'd take my turn.
I need to start walking again ~ you're right, moving is the answer!
My daughter told me last night after dinner that we were going to start walking every evening after dinner. We started last night. Tonight she is not here, I haven't had dinner, and I am thinking it's great, because I don't have to walk.
Hilary, you inspire me. I've got to change this attitude of mine!
moving on as it is fit for health hilary. My son grabs me daily morning.
Hope you are on the mend and feeling much better. Love the kitty picture.
What are you going to make with the denim strips?
I've been meaning to hit the gym as well. One day I might just make it there! :) Hang in there!
Is it just me or has Sydney lost a pound too? Maybe you inspire her too!
Glad you are doing better, and thanks for keeping us on the work hard and take time to smell the roses track... We are all better for it:-)
The place where I have worked for 31 years is closing in a month. My 80-year-old mother has been taking me for a walk almost every day---it does help me sleep much better at night. I have a heel spur, too, and wear New Balance shoes. They are expensive, but they work.
