Crazy as a Loom

Good Gawd.

Every now and again, I feel like I am channeling my late father.
Especially when it comes to clutter outside, and a conglomeration of CRAP.
Now the barn isn't beautiful to begin with, but look at this mess!!!!!

So today, I got busy.  I had some help, from my lawn mowing guys, moving the heavy stuff.
Then when they were done, I went to the local Agway, and bought some annuals, on sale.
I brought them home, and did some hillbilly decorating.
I had plenty of containers.

My dyeing mess is next, that's out by the shed.  I spared you that view for now.

Sorry about the two rolls of fabric....there is no way  I am moving those anywhere......they need to be cut, and rolled into balls.  Each one of them weighs about 50 lbs, so that job is somewhere in my future.
Key word: somewhere.

You gotta admit, it looks better.   Now, I have to keep it picked up.
The barn is a busy place, it is home to pellets, loopers, fabric, jeans....you name it.
We are often out there sorting, moving, packing.  It gets cluttered looking quite easily.

I have about 80 of these potholders, made on the Hip to Be Square looper loom.  And no, as crazy as I am, I did not stay up many nights making them.
I have a couple of ladies who make them for me.
I am presently trying to sew them together to make a big rug, about 6'x8'.   I want it for a demo at the Washington County Fiber Festival, coming up in September, and also it would be nice to have it for the Summer Harvest Festival tour, right at the studio, Aug 20 and 21.
But that's a lot of sewing, and Roy would rather walk.

Sydney says:
(looking quite disgusted)

"Hmmmmmm, how did HE get so spoiled so soon??"

You did a grand job, I love the flowers outside, especially the ones planted in the bathtub ?
I'm smiling as I look again at the pictures.
Potholders are colorful and so needed !

Looks fabulous! Doesn't take long in this house for things to become messy either. Sometimes ya just gotta take a day, suck it up, and gitter done and that's all there is to it.

The flowers are perfect!

Hilary, you continue to amaze me with your resourcefulness. I don't usually care much for blogs that are mainly photos but I feel just the opposite about your posts because everything you show is so beautiful with all the color. Plus, Sydney and Roy don't hurt either.

Because cats don't need to be walked, Sydney.

And Hilary - you clean up good.

I was wondering where you got the big stones to decorate with...great rolls of fabric fit well into the pretty flowers:)

LOVE what you did by the barn! It looks like a postcard! I would have never guessed those were rolls of fabric... Sydney's green eyes of envy... lol!
