Crazy as a Loom

TGIF

What a week.
I am beyond tired.
Bathroom is finished, workmen are gone.
Company is gone.
Kalamazoo is gone.
And the studio has a new window.

Here is the upstairs hallway.  It gets the morning sun, and after that, nothing.   It has always bothered me.

But in the spirit of my late father, who put in windows and took them out, put up walls and tore them down, whenever it seemed like a good idea,  the upstairs hall has a south facing window.

It couldn't be a huge window, due to the roof just outside.

Gotta love the walls in this old post and beam house..........they called it 'board on board'.

It may be a little crazy, to just suddenly plop a window where there was none.
But hey, you never know.

I love the imagining part of it.
And then I love when it comes to fruition, and it is as good, or sometimes better than you imagined.

I know if I could turn the volume down in my brain, I would get in less trouble, so to speak.

But really, what fun would that be???

Oh, by the way, Roy says hey.

I think it's wonderful that you play with your house so to speak and make it do what you need it to do. Let there be light for heaven sakes!

What a nice old home. Most of the older homes are dark inside so when you add light to the character of the older house you have a real treasure.I love windows but I love them even more when there is a cat in them. So, I'll wait for that post. :)
Hey Roy....Kane says "howdy"

I love natural light--There are lots of things I don't care for in my house, but we do have lots of natural light, except in the narrow, paneled hearthroom that's right off the kitchen. I'm thinking about painting it a creamy white, but my husband loves wood. We'll see who wins this one!
Oh, and my Dudley and Rikki shout out "hey" to Roy!

I've been on vacation for the last month so have no idea why you needed a new window. I'll work my way backwards through your posts and get up to tempo. I had no idea how much I would miss my blog friends. Traveling is weird - interesting - but it's like when my kids would say, I know you are, but what am I?

Turn down the head noise - that's what my daughter and I call it.

There is no such thing as too many windows...I have a windowless wall in my house and I dream about gracing it with a window or two someday! Your new one is beautiful.

The window is perfect, really adds something to the house. Roy is wonderful, tell him hey back. Where did you find that awesome black chair sitting in front of your loom in the new window picture?

Welcome to my world.
