Crazy as a Loom

Money???

Today it was time for a little road trip.

As you can clearly see, it is still winter in northeast NY.

Scenic, yes, but I would rather see it on a post card, if you know what I mean.

And today was bitterly cold.  The wind was cutting.

DH doesn't ask anymore when I say I need him to go with me on a trek, oh and btw, bring your 4 WD TRUCK.   He knows the drill.
Ha!
Here's the driveway we had to go down....this is half way down....it was long and steep and icy.

And on the way home, it started to snow again.

Good grief.

But I persevered, and put up with more WINTER, for the prize at the end.

L said, it wasn't any surprise.  She said she knew what I was up to.
Apparently, I am quite transparent.
Who knew?

Isn't she beautiful??
I guess it is no wonder I am not rich here, even though I have worked hard enough to be rich.  I spend too much money on LOOMS, CATS, donations to dog rescues, grandkids, kids, THREADS to weave, and whatever else I am passionate about.
So who needs to be rich anyway??

The studio pays for itself, and allows me to do what I love.
That, my friends, is RICH ENOUGH FOR ME.

We have had lots of wind here this winter. It is almost to the point of being annoying. Our snow is gone so I enjoy seeing yours.

Beautiful, all of it... and totally worth the trip.

Oh, but you are rich - very rich - in all those things that count! It has started snowing here again today too and it is supposed to keep it up through the weekend - dh keeps reminding me that spring is only a month away. I'm holding on to that! ~chris

My mom always said "You can't take it with you." We must keep ourselves well stocked with toys. Congrats.

You are rich -- in the ways that count the most. And yes, the loom looks beautiful in person, and the scenery would be better in a postcard.

Well I can't pass up a good deal on a loom either. You are not the only one who can't say no to a loom. I answered an ad the other day for a "free" Norwood that needed a good home. Darn it - one person got there before me. Hope she turns it down when she sees it so I can get it. How many looms can one person use? At least there are two of you but only one of me! HA!
I love it when you take us on a joy ride with you!

That's my definition also. If you can do what you love and be with those you love.. how could you possibly be any richer?

Lovely little birthday present to you!

Haha! I thought you were going on a loom diet! It makes you happy... so who cares?

Beautiful snow scenes.. I can't imagine tiring of the beauty, but then I live in California and get to hike year round in beautiful pine forests.

Is that a Leclerc? She looks just like my baby!
Oh now I am pining for my baby. She is still sitting at my other home waiting for me to find a spot, any spot big enough to fit her in...

I see a Schacht logo---is that a baby wolf? What it is about looms and spinning wheels? It doesn't seem that anyone can stop at just one. I have three floor looms, and I don't even consider myself a real weaver.

that would be rich enough for me too .. .how does that saying go .. .if you work at something you love you will never work a day in your life ...

Ah rich in cats, weaving, adoring family and friends and of course looms. Your new little loom is very pretty.

Here on the west slopes of the Rockies we had a beautiful Wednesday with, as had been the story for several days, a night time early morning snowfall of just over an inch. So when it warmed I went out for all the drive necessary trips to the Post Office , Library and grocery. Now as a series of winter days is approaching once again I am grateful for those things we do with fiber and thread in our warm homes.
When I look at your photos of outside it looks so much like the landscape here as well...and then the looms put me in my grandmother's weaving room where as a child I spent so many happy hours...and from those days my love of cloth making has always continued. Your deep love and enjoyment of the process, shared on your blog, always is a delight to me and brings those warm familial memories. Wealth is truly in being surrounded by that which brings fulfillment and pleasure to our journey.
My total joy in winning your giveaway for the wool, tools, project in process and hooking frame continues to fill me with more of that sweet life story. Thanks Hilary for making that collection possible as a fixture in my studio. . . and always a thank you for sharing your projects on the blog.
