Finally, we got around to putting a warp on the Union Custom, and we used the NEW system.
No tension box. I was a little suspicious, but once I got going, I began to be very impressed.
The tension is marvelous.
The system comes complete, except for a 4" C clamp, that holds the reed on the back beam.
I had help, "L" was on the other side of the back beam, which made it go much faster.
I am not sure I will give up my tension box and regular spool rack. But I don't think I will use them very often. This is just so much more efficient, and easier
If you are interested in purchasing it for yourself, go to Homestead Weaver, the contact information is there. Call her or email her for details and pricing.
The birds are crazy at the feeders again, they know when we are getting another storm.
Snow tonight, then 2 days of rain.
I do my usual. One day at a time. It is the only way to get to spring from here.
.
I have three orders in the works, and a couple of more pending, so I am busy.
And as always, the studio needs some attention, some cleaning, some organizing.
First weaving weekend of the year coming up next week.
I kind of want to bake something tonight, or maybe make some soup. But I am not all that motivated to do either. I just keep thinking about doing them.
Have you had those moments? Good ideas, but no energy to make them happen.
I have some knitting to do, and a new book on my Kindle. But I am not inspired to do those things either.
So maybe I will just make some popcorn, watch American Idol, go in the hot tub, and go to bed.
Now THAT sounds like a plan.

Sounds like a GREAT plan! Enjoy your evening.
Enjoy your evening!
Love your lady cardinal pix. :)
I get that way a lot, I have all of these ideas, but no energy to actually do them. Lately, I have not even been reading, the books just don't seem to interest me. I think it's the damp gloomy weather. Makes me want to hibernate.
Have I mentioned just how much I LOVE your bird pictures?! Our hotel room on a recent vacation had a private hot tub and I thought of you while I was using it (although it was 70-something outside, not as cold as your temps!).
I love wild birds. Miss them where I live.
American Idol has some amazing talent this time around, and you know.. I like these judges, I do!
I hope you followed through on that plan, sounds great to me.
Hey, there!
I routinely warp 80 yard beams and would love to know about other options for warping. Can you post more pics of your new system? What's the name of the device?
I love your blog.

I would love to know more about your warping method as well. How do you make a cross to keep the threads separate once you cut them?
