It's amazing to me how perspective makes all the difference.
I have found in the last five years of my life, that my constant headaches have made many other things in life, that might have once bothered me, pale in comparison.
When pain, in my case, a headache, rules your life, and every day is planned, and lived, around that fact, you know clearly what matters, and what doesn't.
This week, my headache has been exceptionally brutal. I have struggled, I will admit it.
Then, in a matter of a couple of hours, this little guy, named "Cooper", was born.
Grandchild # 6
Grandson # 3
And suddenly, there isn't a headache in the world that will stop me making the drive to get there.
And NOTHING matters, except that he and his mom are ok.
Perspective.
You gotta love it.
I confess, when day after day I wake up with a slamming headache, I begin to wonder about the value of life.
But I'm ok now.
I've been reminded in the sweetest of ways.
That it matters.
Life. Family. Love.
The quilt was done....with his name on the bottom. I just had to come home last night and put the date on the top.
I hope he'll keep it forever.
Back to the loom tomorrow, feeling very grateful.
Awwwwww!!!! Beautiful!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI, too, either woke with a headache, sometimes at 3 am or I'd develop one by noon. Turns out a slightly hinky disc in my neck compounded by arthritis. I've started taking Voltaren, (the generic but I can't pronounce it!) twice a day with wonderful results. It is an incredible relief to go through whole days without one!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Babies are so precious and your new grandson is a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it's all in the perspective. When I have a horrible day...I get home, met at the door by my dog, who has waited all day to let me know that he loves me. My home is warm, I have food in the freezer, I have plenty of fabric and yarn to create art. Yes, it's all in the perspective.
Congratulations!! on the birth of your third grandson and sixth grandchild!!! aren't they wonderful and you are so right, it would take a lot to keep me away from them, making sure they are healthy and doing well! Life is precious and we don't know what it is going to be from day to day. so kiss and hug all your loved ones always! I hope a solution will present itself about your headaches. My friend kept having migraines often, and I convinced her to try taking magnesium. she almost doesn't have them anymore. Just a thought. Take care from Iowa
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! He's a cutie for sure!
