Change

Sometimes, when my head is banging, and I can't weave, I cook.
I have no explanation.
It just makes me feel better.

Love these little half pint cherry pies.

I also made a pasta dish, but the "gluten free pasta" was not a hit.
My youngest daughter asked me to exclude that from future cooking sprees.

I am refashioning my days.
Two days a week find me taking care of this peach.

Then I find myself back at the studio, getting prepped for baby blankets.

Threading my AVL.

I have to take frequent breaks.

Here is the new "opened space" .....the new countertop is going right where those paint cans are.

And we'll be doing some relocating of looms.
Now there's a surprise.

I've turned down a couple of requests to weave yardage for customers, who planned on making things and reselling them.
I don't want to weave anything that doesn't totally move me.

I know what's important.  What matters.

Like facetime with the peach, when I am not with her.

It shouldn't take head trauma to figure this one out.

  1. She`s so adorable, Hilary. I`m really enjoying our little Gwyn, too. She`s 7 months now. They change so quickly. I was sorry to read about Nexxie. That`s really heart-breaking. Kind of made me feel a little numb. Sending a hug, Deb

  4. Isn't Facetime just the greatest thing? I can keep in touch (and actually see) those who are distant but dear. Our efforts at gluten free pasta met with similar results. Luckily our grandson has outgrown the gluten allergy and is growing into a healthy and happy Aspergers boy. ~chris

  6. She is so sweet! Love her little tooth showing.
    New space looks great!
I wove yardage for years for another weaver who made Ikat dyed clothing. It took a lot of fun out of weaving. I would never do it again!

  7. I can't think of anything better than watching a baby instead of weaving. Her laugh would have to release tons of endorphins - great medicine.
