The newly retrofitted Reed Ideal is working well. I have already made a few rugs on it.
I am going to add some weight to the beater bar though, to help pack in the weft without so much effort.
For these rugs, I just went up to the loft and grabbed a bag of fabric, all one color.
I love the texture of it. Even though I am usually in to bold color, lots of color, sometimes neutrals are a breath of fresh air.
Maybe I'll do a whole line of neutrals.
Sydney says:
Go for it, Mom.
I love the neutrals. That rug is gorgeous and so are you and Syd. It is so hot here that walks are now early mornings and late evenings. If there is one thing I hate about humid days it is that it affects my walks mid-day with Kane. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteCats are fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were single I would have a house full of neutrals. Having a man and pups around requires colors that hide spots. I say do some naturals and see how they sell. Market them to all the single ladies. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is sweet.
ReplyDeleteI like the neutral coloredrug!
The neutrals are lovely, but I still love the bright colorful ones.
ReplyDeleteI don't like strong color on my walls--I like soft ivories and butter yellow, but I do love color in accessories--it cheers me up! I'm loving your cute little monkeys--think there's a little girl in my family who just might need one!

There was a piece on the news, maybe yesterday, about a denim/jeans maker that weaves their own denim here in this country ... it was an amazingly HUGE loom with lots of stuff and as soon as I saw it I thought of you ... now I wish I'd paid more attention .. maybe its online ..
ReplyDeleteHilary, I absolutely LOVE that rug... you're right.. a breath of fresh air. I say, do some neutrals.
