I know I've taken you on a walk with Roy before, but the light was so perfect, that I had to share these with you.
I don't always take my camera with us, it's too heavy, and we walk too fast.
But something told me that tonight would be the exception.
Today was an aggravating day. Everything seemed to be hard to accomplish, and impossible to finish.
I swore some.
So I loved this shot.
I am making a rug with an ANGLE. Yes, you read that right. Stay tuned.
When I came home, DH had dinner on. Chicken on the barbecue didn't do much for me, but then I found out that he had bought me something.
These are SO, SO good, and made from all natural ingredients. They also make one with cranberrys and feta cheese, they are even better.
I have to get out the door to walk as early as I can, otherwise, I will be walking in the dark.
If it does get too dark, I don't walk on the bike path. There are street lights in my neighborhood, and plenty of places to walk.
But both Roy and I prefer the bike path. Can you blame us??
I try to leave all my stress right down here, where it can float away on the river.
It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.
I think I may be getting addicted to walking, actually.
That's not a bad thing.
Of course, I know winter is coming, and that worries me. I am making a promise to myself, to give it the best shot I can give it, no matter how bad the weather.
I think that Roy will motivate me.
He's quite the little motivator.
Your photos are just wonderful today. I've meant to stop by and comment these past few days but have a house filled with family and love right now that I want to savor... I'll stop by again next week! Oooh, that late afternoon light in your photos is SO AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, isn't fall just wonderful! Full of amazing light and cooler weather! I say just walk now and tomorrow will take care of itself!
ReplyDeleteha!
I love your photos! Thanks for sharing them with us. Is that chicken gluten free?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Shorter days are interfering with my walking schedule, too...I am a morning walker but sunrise is getting too late these days. Just when you get a good plan, it's time to be flexible...
ReplyDeleteBoy Hilary....if I had a place as lovely as you and Roy have to walk I think I would be walking more myself. Your photos are spectacular. I want to walk there.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are lovely, H. You and Roy sure have a beautiful area for walking. Winter walking can be just as comfy if you dress for it. Layers and tucked-in shirts go a long way toward keeping you warm. And the camera distracts. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilary for sharing your walk--I feel like I've been blessed. Such beauty! I just found your blog, and having ordered from you today look forward even more to carrying your items!
ReplyDeleteI had such a busy day today and needed to wind down and your photos did just that for me. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou know Hilary, I had a dog-walking service for 4 years in our town and I walked dogs all winter long. Some days were so cold and icy that it was impossible but most days, with the right clothing and attitude we got out there and walked. The worst months for this were July & August. I think you'll do fine. Hugs, Deb
How lucky you are to have such beautiful places to walk! Wow! So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the fabulous photos ... I love fall with all of the colors and the sound of crunching leaves.
ReplyDeleteYour walking reports are my inspiration! Hank, the newest member of the family is a large dog also and requires expended energy. I think he expends less energy than I do on our walks!! I can't put in 3 miles yet, like you do, but we will get there with you and Roy to inspire us! Keep it up! (it is easy to walk when there is such loveliness to admire, isn't it?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
What a beautiful bike path... and I see you're getting color at the same time we are, although ours is muting from all the salt air Irene brought in, which burnt the leaves.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful place to walk. Enjoy and walk off all the stress. Nancy
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos! You make me miss NY....
ReplyDeleteI also love your paths you walk. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you can keep up the walking with Roy - but he may not want to go out in the cold either! Does he have a winter jacket? :-) He might need booties for his paws too....
Martha
Love the Dam sign, you are too cute! Also, yes walking=addicting. Your scenes are so lovely. A friend told me about that quorn and I keep forgetting to look for it, I needed that reminder! ~Lili
