I am beyond tired.
Bathroom is finished, workmen are gone.
Company is gone.
Kalamazoo is gone.
And the studio has a new window.
Here is the upstairs hallway. It gets the morning sun, and after that, nothing. It has always bothered me.
But in the spirit of my late father, who put in windows and took them out, put up walls and tore them down, whenever it seemed like a good idea, the upstairs hall has a south facing window.
It couldn't be a huge window, due to the roof just outside.
Gotta love the walls in this old post and beam house..........they called it 'board on board'.
It may be a little crazy, to just suddenly plop a window where there was none.
But hey, you never know.
I love the imagining part of it.
And then I love when it comes to fruition, and it is as good, or sometimes better than you imagined.
I know if I could turn the volume down in my brain, I would get in less trouble, so to speak.
But really, what fun would that be???

ReplyDeleteWhat a nice old home. Most of the older homes are dark inside so when you add light to the character of the older house you have a real treasure.I love windows but I love them even more when there is a cat in them. So, I'll wait for that post. :)

I love natural light--There are lots of things I don't care for in my house, but we do have lots of natural light, except in the narrow, paneled hearthroom that's right off the kitchen. I'm thinking about painting it a creamy white, but my husband loves wood. We'll see who wins this one!

I've been on vacation for the last month so have no idea why you needed a new window. I'll work my way backwards through your posts and get up to tempo. I had no idea how much I would miss my blog friends. Traveling is weird - interesting - but it's like when my kids would say, I know you are, but what am I?
