Little color, couple of questions

While I am waiting for an approval, or not, on a sample for a custom order, I am at last free to weave other things.

These placemats are made from sock waste, and thus are washable.
I love the colors.  Don't they rock?

I have quite a few things I want to work on during this short 'break'.

And in between, organizing the studio is another priority.  My idea to move two or three looms upstairs to the front bedroom......did I tell you that one??.....well, it has been nixed.  By me.
I got to thinking about the two looms I was going to move up there, and realized that those same two looms used to BE up there.......and I didn't like them up there, and moved them down.
I need to COOL my jets, so to speak.

Tomorrow is an EVENT.  I have been trying for quite some time to get rid of the Kalamazoo wood stove in the old kitchen.  It is a beautiful piece, and would be perfect in a cabin in the woods, or a camp.  But it is not going to be used in the studio, and it is 600 lbs of wasted space, space I could use in much better ways.
I finally found someone who wants it, and tomorrow we are going to move it.  Should be an experience.
I will definitely take pictures.  I'm NOT lifting on it.

Sydney says:  I'm not lifting on it either.

You didn't expect me to, did you ???

This has been a long, hot, eventful, stressful week.   I don't usually look forward to Fridays, but this may be an exception.

Most of the time I like my life, but every now and again, I long to get in my car, and drive away.
Does that ever happen to you??
Or maybe be so free enough to just walk down the road playing a guitar.

Somehow,  I saw this guy, and thought, how lucky he is to be so free.
Am I crazy?  Or what?

  1. I think there is indeed a certain freedom to walking now a country road with no baggage. Lucky? Only he knows.
As usual the colors are gorgeous. and yes, they rock. :-)

  2. Ah, the call of the wild woman...open road and no planned agenda - I like that! You are not crazy, the guy playing guitar might be crazy, but he is listening to his inner call - more power to him and to us!

  4. As a young, unmarried, unemployed person, I have had many days lately where I have had crazy days, thinking of selling or storing my stuff and heading somewhere? to find a new life...

After reading tonights blog, I am heartened to know that someone who seems to have it altogether has days like that too! Makes me feel like I may be normal afterall :-)

Love the colours! Miss Puss and "little" Syd make me smile. Thank you for sharing your happy, crazy and maddening moments...You are not alone.

  5. Remember...it's not where you ARE, it's where you AREN'T! Now, having said that, I can't wait to go on vacation later next week...our boys and their GF's are going to join us for a week in Northern Quebec...no phones, no tv...no people. Just us and the FISH!

We all feel like we want to run away at one time or another. Sometimes I get in the car to go to the store and think...hmmm...the gas tank is filled, I just got paid...how far can I go?

  8. Sydney has the right idea. No heavy lifting.

Banishing the heavy thoughts & worries might be a bit more difficult ~ balance!

  11. I'm so anal that I'd be worrying about getting caught in the rain with my guitar.... now that's sad isn't it?
Loooove your placemats! I've never understood nonwashable placemats but people must buy them because they're for sale everywhere!
