Goodbye.

This post seems unreal to me, I'm not sure how much I have to give to it.

So I'll be brief.

A few days ago, I lost my best friend.

Even though he had been sick for a long while, and declining in health, it was a
shock.
It was unexpected.
An unattended death, they called it.

My head has been spinning since.   Trying to absorb it, trying to accept it.

I'll be ok, because that's how I roll,   He wouldn't want it any other way.

I hope that he is no longer feeling weak, and tired, and sick.

I pray that he is free of all of that, and if he is, then I'm willing to put up with this ache,
until we meet again.

  15. Losing our best friend is so much to bear, because we loved them so much. What was that line in the show "Wandavision"? "Grief is love persevering." I am so sorry.

  20. Hilary, again, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, so difficult to lose someone we love so much. You and family will be comfort for each other, and share the good times and memories with each other. I lost Phil going on 18 years ago, and at times it feels like yesterday. You are a strong woman, be kind to yourself. Keeping all of you in my thoughts, and sending warm hugs.

  34. I'm so very, very sorry for your unimaginable grief and loss. I wish I had the words to ease in some way but those words are lost on me. Time is a fickle tyrant, that I know, and a bastard at that. I don't pray but I will talk to the night sky as I've done my entire life and hope that whatever is up there, beyond the clouds and the wonder, listens intently to my whispers this one time.

You are, as you have been for a long season, in my heart. With Love.

    Your Pal,
    Michael
