No words. Just this knife in my chest. My sweet, lovable boy. He was part of our family. He got me through some of the toughest days of my life. I will never forget him. Heaven would be him running towards me, with that grin on his face.
Oh, I'm so sorry, Hilary. There really are few words that can comfort at this time, Just know I am thinking of you and send you a big hug. Rest in Peace, little one.xo
oooh nooooooo..... :-( So sad for you, Hilary. Well, the old boy had a fantastic home, the best a dog can possibly have, especially because he had that label, you know the one. The worse part of loving a dog is the losing in the end. Take comfort in knowing he was so very loved and lived the life of a king.
my heart is breaking for you...I know he took a big piece of your heart along with him...I have had this quote on my blog since losing my beloved Chester in 2010 and repeat it often... Grieve not nor speak of me with tears but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you I loved you so . . . 'twas heaven here with you.
I am so so sorry he had to go. He is the third one. A friend's dog left yesterday, our grand dog left yesterday, and Roy. You just know they are all playing at the Bridge, but it doesn't ease the pain of saying goodbye and missing them. You gave him a wonderful home and he gave you his love and loyalty in return.
Awww, I am so saddened by this news, Hilary, and I am so, so sorry you've had to say goodbye to your dear, sweet friend. Such a darling pal he was. You were much blessed to have had each other thru thick and thin. He will be sorely missed.
I stumbled on this quote earlier in the month and thought it was beautifully said:
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog; they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog that comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and maybe I will become as generous and loving as they are." ~Unknown
I can't see to type, I am very sorry to learn that Roy has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. No worries Hillary, you will see him running to your with a huge grin on his sweet face. I am sending you many warm hugs and a few tears of my own.
Oh Hilary, I'm so, so sorry. I know how you feel and even all the way from Oregon I knew Roy was special. How lucky you all got to bask in his love and kindness and shower him with yours. We'll light a candle tonight for Roy, he'll have some amazing company. This will make you cry, but some day it will also bring a bit of comfort. https://iheartdogs.com/this-is-why-dogs-never-die/ Peace
Sitting here crying for a pup I never met and wish I had. I know how much he meant to you and how he has helped you thru some tough times. Every time I hear sad news like this, I think about all the fur babies I have lost thru the years. Please take comfort in the fact that you are not alone in your grief, many of us have a wad of soggy tissues in our hand today. You gave Roy the best years he ever had...and he knew it.
He was a dog in a million, such a sweet wonderful boy. I've been dreading this post, ever since you mentioned his health problems. I can't imaging how your heart is breaking. But what a joy to have known him, and to have made his days so happy. You were a blessing to each other
Oh Hilary, I am so sorry. Your post brought tears to these eyes, so understanding your pain, having lost my dear beagle girl in July. I remember when he came into your life and how important he was to you, as only our beloved dogs can be with their unconditional love and the comfort only they can provide. Take comfort in that he lived love with you and your family. May you be peaceful and find comfort in this next few days and weeks. Again, words just can not express my sadness for you.

Hilary, I was so sad to learn of your loss of Roy. I remember when I first really found your blog, I went back to the beginning of it and read right up to what then was current. My family thought I was nuts. I remember the pain you were in, and what a comfort Roy and your pets were, and I recall reading about the walks you took together. It is so hard when we lose them because they are such an important part of our families. He was loved, truly loved, by you. You were a blessing to each other.
