Amen.

Summer is flying by, and with this heat wave we are getting, it is ok with me.
Not that it matters how I feel about it, or how any of us feel, it is what it is.

While I am settling into this partial retirement, certainly more retirement than I have ever experienced, I am still busy with this and that.

My woven labels finally got here.  I love them, they get sewn right into the hem, making it very easy.

It may seem like I have gone a little crazy with towels, but I only do a couple of them a day, and then they add up.

And I LOVE my steam press, what a time saver.

Aren't they gorgeous???

Lois has been out picking blackberries.

I made one large one for her, and one little one for DH.
The other two little ones are apples, from the tree in the back yard that apples fall from daily.

Sometimes I take a quiet lunch break on the back porch.  Little cottage cheese, some tomatoes out of our garden, some avocado, and some crackers, gluten free  (Mary's Gone Crackers, Sesame)

Life is good.  My headaches are DOABLE.   I love saying that so much.
DOABLE.
Hallefreakinglujah.  It took a long time to be able to say that.

This is Washington County, N.Y.
I love it here.
I'm one lucky girl.

Can we hear an AMEN?

  1. Your towels are beautiful, Hilary. As is your pie. It's good to hear you are feeling better but I will always hope for you to be completely rid of the headache. I know it will happen for you. Lunch looks good and healthy. Aren't the home-grown tomatoes amazing this year? I am eating them everyday now. :)

  3. I am a lurker and although I read your posts, I rarely comment. But here I just had to add an "Amen!" to the ones above. I'm so glad to hear your happiness, and I want a plate of food that looks just like yours. Yum! :-)

  6. I do really love the towel weave pattern. Do I remember that this is a 12H weave? I only have 8 :-( But if you're willing to share the draft, maybe I can do some mods that'll make something similarly lovely on 8?

  7. Amen! Love cottage cheese... my standard breakfast this week is cottage cheese with red grapes cut in half. I like your lunch idea and will try that, as my son has celiac's I have plenty of gluten free crackers around!
I bought two of your towels years ago online... I love them! One red, one blue. I really like the clam shell pattern with the multicolor weave, hummmm. Maybe one more?
