I guess it's because I was into my own thoughts, and trying to work them out.
Sometimes, it's just that way.
So yesterday after the obligatory trip to the Salvation Army with my mother, where the pastor made rude and inappropriate remarks about the President of the United States, and I ceased trying to hide that I was reading my Kindle throughout the ENTIRE SERVICE; I took myself for a ride.
It was chilly, but the sun was beyond lovely, and I needed to get away from all human form.
I needed to be with ME.
I knew what was coming today, and I needed to prepare myself. There were places I needed to go, and tears I needed to cry, and feelings I needed to acknowledge.
And I did.
Even though it was still winter in the woods, it was beautiful to my eyes. It was soothing to my soul.
Next week, I am having surgery AGAIN. This one is a Posteria Fossa Revision, or in other words, a surgery to remove the scar tissue between the rods on my cervical spine, and thus stop the displacement of my poor brain, AGAIN.
So yesterday, I processed all this.
Today, I am being Scarlett O'Hara. I'll think about it tomorrow.
Right now, I'm knitting, and being in the moment.
I'm thinking about blue skies, even if they are all in my head.
Pun intended.
The beauty of the blue sky drew me right in. I am so glad you allowed yourself to feel what you needed to feel- the sadness and frustration and what have you. You have my prayers, for as long as it takes, for wisdom, and courage and trust and relief from the headaches... hang in there friend! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd come to terms with it and it WILL be the end of your woes, once it's done. You're a tough not-so-old broad. And you're very loved.
ReplyDeleteSo glad for you that the end of this painful time is now in sight. Know that the thoughts of many are with you! peace.
ReplyDeleteYou will have LOTS of friends, both actual & virtual, sending you tons of positive thoughts.

Bless your sweet heart. (yep.. I'm southern). You're good at doing the hard work and getting to good places or less bad anyway. I know the surgery is daunting, but I just know that one day all will be well and you will be back to your old, pre-fall self! Until then, take yourself on a sunny trip to the Maine coast and I'll meet you there!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be in my thoughts and prayers next week. I'll be looking forward to your first blog entry after your surgery. I thinking positive thoughts for you.
ReplyDeleteLynda in Michigan.
I pray that this is the last of your headaches. Soon you will be back to weaving rugs and dishtowels to your hearts content.
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures and good luck with the surgery. I hope it goes well. I love your quote btw.

ReplyDeletei wont ask you to promise because i know its pointless but consider going more slowly after this surgery .. i wonder if scar tissue forms less when there is less movement during the first few days/weeks post op .. just being annoying me as always ... poking the hornets nest .. and giving love
ReplyDeleteYou will be up and rowing just in time for a glorious spring and summer. Continued prayers and good healing wishes.
ReplyDeleteI'm coming in late on this, but here's a hug for you and your upcoming surgery and hoping all comes out well for you. Thank yo so much for stopping by my place and saying hin...so nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are not waiting a long time to get this done. Sooner the better - you will be happy that you did this now when summer comes and you can enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted - we are all invested you know.
