If I had my druthers, I druther live on a mountain pond. I love the quiet, pristine waters of a smaller body of water.
But there is something oh so special about the ocean, and the beach.
Walk with me, isn't it lovely?
It was really windy, and there weren't an overabundance of people. I love walking Roy here, cause there's nothing to interrupt him. Nothing to raise his leg on, nothing to sniff, so he is just WALKING.
And a few days away is an opportunity to eat some awesome food. How about a little shrimp, broccoli and penne pasta??
It was SO good.
But back to the beach.
It was peaceful, and calming. I found that for once I was walking the beach, and not thinking about anything. No lists of things to do. Just walking for the sake of it.
I feel like I have been yanked back from the edge, maybe one I made for myself.
How about an omelet???
Mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and cheese. My fave.
I am not saying that I will be suddenly a sedate, older person, content to rock my life away.
No, not at all.
I don't think that's in my future.
I do think that I will be happier with me.
I already am.
I certainly won't squelch the crazy, impulsive qualities that make me...........me.
And DH knew that when he saw me wheeling my "first" shopping cart out with rolls of fabric.
You know that shopping carts tip over forward when loaded with 100 lbs of fabric??
We ended up with nearly 500 lbs of fabric. I wanted more, but I will settle for this ............for now, at least.
Roy says: There's just enough room for me, Mom.
Thanks.
Is Roy's tongue sticking out?

ReplyDeleteNow THAT vehicle is clearly packed by someone with their priorities straight...tons of fabric with a suitcase or two on the side! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW ! that's a lot of fabric ! I am glad you took the time to walk that lovely beach and just let your mind and body go with flow, good for you . Wonderful photos . Glad to see you simply enjoying life ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteThose beach pictures are filled with peace and tranquility. Finally! It's on its way, Hilary. :-)
ReplyDeleteI guess this means I should spend more time at the beach near me. The only thing with this beach is that there are throngs of people. Still it can be made peaceful if I just put my mind to it.
ReplyDeleteRoy looks like he's not ready to return home yet!
Oh the peacefulness of walking along the beach. Everyone should experience that.
ReplyDelete<3 Roy
I am on a mission to live much closer to a beach. What are you making with ALL that fabric? More rugs?
ReplyDeleteI felt calmer just "walking" with you on that beautifully, quiet beach. I feel my life is missing the serenity we so deserve, but I'm learning with your insight. Thank you, Hilary, XOXO

ReplyDeleteAll I can say is Bless Your Heart!
ReplyDeleteFrom the serenity of the beach to the madness of shopping for fabric!
I am smiling.
What a lovely place! And the key, that I know you have found, is the balance between calm and in the moment, and planning for new projects.
ReplyDeleteTHAT is a fantastic fabric haul. :)
you made me hungry, want to go to the beach and to shop .. maybe not for fabric but still an inspiring post!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and VERY BIG beach. Looks like a wonderful day and trip. Looks like you scored a great deal on fabric too. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the new balance!! Time for yourself plus creativity!
ReplyDeleteLovely... you can hardly tell that it's no longer summer when you look at the beach. And I'm thinking that Roy doesn't look very pit bullish...
