Loom update:
The Union Custom that I just acquired is operational.
We got it together, gave it a good cleaning, which it desperately needed after being stored in the loft of a garage for 15 years. It really is in great shape.
I made a new apron and lashed new rods to the front. Then I had a custom crank made, so we could put a warp on sectionally.
Someone asked me if I 'planned out' this colored warp.
Someone who doesn't know me well, obviously.
Imagine.
Going to do some sock placemats. Don't laugh. They are colorful, and WASHABLE.
Then I had to thread the heddles. And I had company.
They OWN the porch.....in case you didn't know.
And if you're out there, they own you, too.
They just like to be close. They are HOME here, there is no question about it.
The biggest clue is how comfortable and relaxed they are around people now, as compared to what they were like a few months ago.
Enough says:
Don't ever send me away AGAIN.
Next says:
Yeah, Mom. What he said.
Look at them lying on those pretty summer rugs. Quite cute!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks like the loom has found another home. It is very impressive. Love the two boys that own the porch. They look like they are home, too.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better than two happy cats and a loom on a porch! Except maybe a house full of looms with more happy cats!
ReplyDeleteWhat very handsome boys. And they sure look like they belong right where they are. How do you tell them apart? They look identical to me. It's good to see them looking so content. Happy weaving, Hillary! Do what you love . . . let the other stuff wait. Becky
ReplyDeleteFrom the pictures i've seen, i don't blame the cats for loving your home.
ReplyDeleteBesides having you for their mama, they have an endless supply of colorful rugs. Why go anywhere else?
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a porch with a loom and two extremely content kitties. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet buddies.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky the boys let you set up a loom on their porch! They certainly look content with their digs. Glad that they are back with you.
ReplyDeleteThat loom does look like it's made just for you. And those kitties, they are so content and happy, and I know you won't be sending them away ever again!
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet ... you know you have to remember THEY chose YOU .. you cant go choosing for them .. Jack and Rose told me to tell you that .. and that they love their mats so much I learned a new use for one .. someone (Rose) occasionally uses things other than the litter box .. to stop this I put the mat they both use (at different times of course) on top of the recycle pile which immediately turned it from a substitute litter box into a sleeping spot .. I dont know how you could work that into a sales pitch but I thought I'd put it out there for you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting the old loom to be a new loom!
The old loom is perfect for the porch. Of course the boys are right---never send them anywhere else!
ReplyDeleteLove the weaving pics, but I love the cat pics most of all!!!
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest boys.
ReplyDeleteThere's something so relaxing about working in the presence of sleeping cats. What you have accomplished by socializing these boys is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh they SO own you.. and us. Gorgeous babies.
