Thanks to that other Hilary, the sweet one, for the POTW. It was a pleasant surprise this morning.
I am always busy, or so it seems. Lately, more than ever.
As always, HH is ever present. I must say, that after eight months, I am getting pretty worn down by this 24/7 headache. Some days, I act pretty normal, other days not so much.
I am somewhat still in disbelief. Every morning when I wake up, I still can't comprehend it.
On Sunday, I went kayaking with my middle daughter. It was a gorgeous day, although sometimes the sun makes my head worse.
Sometimes, I just do what I want to do anyway, if I weigh it out, and find that doing something with a headache, is better than not doing something at all.
And yes, I am stubborn. I don't want to let life pass me by.
But I have finally decided that maybe I need to investigate the Chiari thing in more depth, since I have tried so many other things with no resolution. So I have an appointment at the Chiari Institute, in Great Neck, N.Y. It's about a four hour drive. The appointment is in August, so if my headache mysteriously disappears by then, well, I can always cancel it, right?
I can always dream.
Yesterday, I saw this at the end of my driveway.
I ran for my camera, and went out to investigate.
"Ernie" said he was on his way to Crown Point, a 57 mile drive. Said it would take him two or three days.
His horses were beautiful.
I just love that he does this.
It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you love it. When this order is done, I will have time to weave on my cotton and hemp place mats. I can't wait to get to them.
Headache, or not.
What a cool means of getting around. Gotta love that!
ReplyDeleteAs for HH, I sure hope you can kick that to the curb sooner than your appointment time.. and at the very least, that they can cure it for you.
Dear Hilary... I;m wondering if you had bought a new bed or chair thay may cause your pain. Have you had a MRI of your head and neck too? I just feel for you and how horrible it is.
ReplyDeletetake care.
Did he say why he is making this 57 mile journey? I'm very curious. Glad you are going to see a specialist. Still cannot believe you have gone THIS long with a headache.
ReplyDeleteI just want you to get better. That's my wish.
ReplyDeleteI'm saddened to read you are still fighting the headaches, it's all so numbing, and yet you are determined to carry on as usual, unwavering....
ReplyDeleteThe canoeing looks awesome, what a gorgeous body of water to enjoy.
Be well my friend !

I know you get lots of advice through this blog, but, when I read that you said the sun sometimes causes the headaches to get worse, the first thing I thought of was "Lupus" - have you been tested for this.
ReplyDeleteYou make me feel so bad when I complain about my little temporary aches and pains! I think I will quit complaining! It does no good anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero!
Love that horse drawn wagon. Man, I would love to do that!
I am hoping that the HH miraculously disappears before the appt. BUT if you do keep it I sure hope it will help . and if you are in Great Neck you'll be pretty close to Manhattan .. maybe we could get together before you head back ...
ReplyDeleteHilary, i'm sorry to hear that you have these headaches. Since i have no advice to offer, and know you've had tons of questions that you are probably tired of answering, i will just say i admire you for not letting the pain get in the way of living, and you will be in my prayers for recovery.
ReplyDeleteI admire your attitude too... going to live life, regardless.
ReplyDeleteHoping you get resolutions soon so that you can move past this headache...
I will hold good thoughts for your trip to Great Neck!
