Kind of a giveaway, and a whole lot of O.

First off this morning, I had to find fabric for an order.
I printed off a photo of a rug, sent by a customer.
Then I went in search of colors that would work.
I would mix these up,  to get a rug that had the same feel as the rug she wanted to replace.
Wild, right?

UPS brought some monkeys........way to go Amanda!!!

We have quite a stock of monkeys in the studio right now.

The "kind of a giveaway" is this.
If you know of a shop that should be selling Prime Mates, you suggest it to me, I send them a flyer, and they order monkeys......YOU get a free monkey.
It's that easy.

I have been trying to give O a monkey for a few weeks now.  She has never been interested.

Until today.

Apparently, the right one spoke to her.

I do believe she chose the right one, or the right one chose her.

She apparently agrees.

This little girl makes me smile, headache or not.

She took her monkey, whose name is George she says, and retreated to one of her fave places.

Under the loom.

Where she and George got to know each other a little better.

Children are such a joy.  You know where they are coming from.  No games, no mystery.

Not to mention that she's drop dead gorgeous.

Her parting remark, (she speaks well for a 2 year old)
"I want to take monkey home."

I wouldn't have it any other way.

  1. I love this post, Hilary. She is my second favorite 2 year old in the world. I just had breakfast with my #1 favorite, grand-daughter, Riley. O has a face that just makes you forget all the problems of this world. I would love you to record her talking sometime. Riley is 2 now and she is starting to string words together and it is so adorable. These two would have so much fun together.
There is a little shop in Almonte, Ontario called Blackbirds and these monkeys would fit well there. I don't know the owners but I know they carry very whimsical children's toys along with many unique household items and gifty things. Hugs, Deb

  2. O is a beautiful little one with perfect taste in monkeys. George is the perfect name for her new friend. Wonderful pictures of a very sweet little girl and her new friend. By the way I love her little white sandals.

  7. Hilary,
Thank you so much for Olivia's Monkey :) He went to bed with her last night...but this morning she told me "I'm not going to play with my Monkey today" ha ha. She did change her mind and George is upstairs napping with her right now.

  8. O, she so freaking adorable. I would be wanting to squish her with hugs and kisses all the time. Sweet little munchkin. :)

I have a store in mind, H. I would prefer to check with them first though. It's out Frank's way and I'm at his place now. So sometime in the next day or few, I'll go in there and chat with her about monkeys. Too bad I didn't bring Whitman with me. I could just show her. :)

  11. I would love to see the monkeys at: Ginko Gallery
    19 South Main Street
    Oberlin, Ohio 44074
    Liz Burgess is the owner.
    http://ginkogallery.net

Liz has an area in the back of the gallery/shop where she takes in abandoned kittens, bottle feeds them and works to get them adopted. Oberlin College students and residents go there and feed and play with the kittens and generally get their kitty fix. Liz also works with the spay/neuter program to reduce the feral cat population.
