I hate loopers.
Can I say that here???
Oh, I won't hate them forever, but just for right now, today, I hate them.
Maybe it was standing out in the sun with the sweat pouring in my eyes that did it, mixing up colors, making up 5 and 10 lb bags.
Or perhaps, sorting out red and yellow for a 'special request'.
I'm not sure, but today, I am comfortable in my decision to hate loopers.
Just sayin'.
And burning brush out back was unwise, since the tiny breeze that blew, threatened to smoke us out.
It didn't, but it threatened.
I swear I could feel the heat from WAY across the yard.
Today was a little of this, and some of that. Tomorrow, big loom, big rug.
Wednesday, students.
And this weekend is the Southern Adirondack Fiber Festival in Greenwich, NY. If you are within driving distance, it is definitely worth the trip. I am in the first building, right by the door.
So there's that to get ready for.
I am trying to finish up some autumn runners, but there isn't enough time in the day.
I did manage to finish my ruana. Do you like it??
It took such a long time to weave it. I want to make another one, but when, I ask you, WHEN?
How do you slow down your days???? Do you? Can you??
Or is it just part of getting older?
I am making a list, of things that I want to weave this winter, weave structures that I want to investigate, colors that I want to play with.
You know what they say about all work and no play, right???
And I don't want to be DULL.
My youngest daughter was an extra today in a movie being shot in Schenectady, NY. With Bradley Cooper. She said she was there from 7:30 this morning until after 4pm. They did ONE scene. A funeral scene.
She said it was fun, but nothing she would want to do all the time. I can't wait to see it now.
They have been shooting the film near where she works, and SOMEHOW, she managed to get this picture of her and BRADLEY.
Are ya kiddin' me??????
The rumor is that Morgan is stalking him, but he doesn't look unhappy, does he???
It made me remember that my grandmother was supposed to have been an "extra" in a silent movie shot on Lake George, a LONG time ago. Part of the story was that the star of the movie did cartwheels from the 'inn' down to the shore, as a publicity stunt.
In later years, that inn was a run down bar room, and eventually burned to the ground.
I wish I could find out the details, but that would require TIME to look through old, old papers, like looking for a needle in a haystack, I would imagine.
But right now, I am in Roy mode.......we just came back from our walk, and we are both exhausted.
Right Roy?????
Roy????
Love the colors in the ruana.
ReplyDeleteOh MY! That Ruana is fabulous! Now you have me thinking that I want to make that! First I have got to get my reeds de-rusted and ready to go...I have my loom, it is just needing some tender oving care right now.
ReplyDeleteOh your lucky daughter! She sure is pretty.
You can burn??? That's a big no no here, I've got a big pile in the back yard that could use a match, but it would cost me many dollars if I did that.
You have way too much energy and are making me look bad.
ReplyDelete(i luv ya, though!)
That ruana is beautiful! That is the first time I have heard of or used that word - ruana. Neat about your daughter! Great photo.
ReplyDeleteI love Roy...
ReplyDeleteAnd your daughter is adorable and that ruana! Beautiful! :D
ReplyDeleteBradley Who???
ReplyDeleteI'm chuckling here as your previous 6 comments mention everything but Hollywood's new Hottie (and Renee Zellwegger's ex BF) Quite the grin on your daughter ( and who could blame her!)
Love the ruana! the colours really work well together...
Roy seems to have the relax mode down pat and maybe we should take a clue from him?
Susan
I LOVE THAT (I would call it a shawl because I am niave like that) RUANA~~~.... wow, that's gorgeous! How much does one cost???....
ReplyDeleteAwesome bradley cooper shot, he is adorable, lucky girl!
That Roy - he is a doll. He certainly looks like he has found his perfect home.
ReplyDeleteKimmen
HA... Rowdy looked exactly like Roy does last night. He took his walk with Hubby and immediately came home and crashed. He was even annoyed with Izzy when she wanted to play. That's a rarity for him!
ReplyDeleteYes, the days are too short. Slowing them down is not an option - we have no control over time - just how we use that time.....
ReplyDeleteMake a schedule so you're not spending all day doing one project. Split the time between priorities. That's the only way I can get the "must do" stuff done without being resentful.
LOVE the ruana. That is next on my "things to do" list. Once I've recovered from my surgery. I can hardly wait to get back to weaving.
Your daughter is beautiful and looks good next to handsome-dude-actor. ;-D
Love love love Roy Boy. Hugs to him.
Have fun this weekend. There is a fiber festival down here in VA in the mountains I'm going to attend. Haven't been before, heard its a good one, so hoping to have some fun.
Take care!
Martha
Yup.. that Roy Boy sure knows how to spend an afternoon. We should all have a dog's life, eh?
