Sitting at the kitchen counter, a slight breeze coming through the screen door.
Eating some leftover macaroni salad, some mesclun mix, and OK, I will admit to it, some Ruffle potato
chips. Drinking an iced tea.
The looms are all quiet. All the beater bars at rest.
Lunch break.
The cats are all spread out somewhere not liking the heat.
It is quiet, and the old house sighs.
It's a good day.
A couple of very cool things happened today.
First, a package came in the mail. I unwrapped it, and it was a rag rug shuttle, a very nice one.
I was puzzled, then I read the card. It was from Wendy, thanking me for the email support I had given her last year, with her loom. It took me a minute, but I did remember talking to her, she had a Weaver's Friend, like the one L has now.
Now that was just a nice thing to do, something that she didn't have to do.
An unexpected kindness.
She also said that I encouraged her to "go gray", something that she is happy with now.
Secondly, I sent an order to Helga, who has a shop in Hesuvik, ICELAND.
Isn't that wild??
I went to her Facebook page, but I don't understand Icelandic.
Wow, my first international shop sale. That is too cool.
I got a couple of rugs woven, but I'm not sure how.
We have four looms to be warped. Sounds like a full day's work coming up soon.
Then I came home and made blueberry muffins. They are SO good.
And tomorrow, I am taking the day off. I am. Really. Honest.
Because I'm 'orderless", and because I can.
Hoorraayy on all counts!!! Have a great day tomorrow--no matter what you choose to do!! haha!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely kitchen, I'm in love with your stove :)
ReplyDeleteA 'do nothing' day is a good thing, rejuvinates the soul, and 'because you can !'
It's too hot ;(

Your kitchen is so cute. I owned a dog biscuit company for 8 years and I remember how excited I was to ship my biscuits to Korea. I thought that was hilarious. Your rugs are so beautiful. I can see them all over the world soon. Have a good day tomorrow and do dine on those muffins. My favorite, too. I have a great recipe for blueberry banana muffins if you ever want it. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

ReplyDeleteI'm very happy for you that your sales terretory has gone worldwide.. you're taking over the globe.. covering it with one rug at a time.
ReplyDeleteI love that last runner.. the colours are wonderful! And your stove.. how I'd love one of those.
Nice to be the boss and take a rest when you see fit. Nice to know you are taking advantage of the niceties of running your own business...
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the brown rug!

LUV those rugs - the colors - something about them.
ReplyDeleteI finally got a rug shuttle. I'm excited to start using it. I don't know the first thing about weaving a rug, with rags, but I'm gonna learn! :-)
How nice of someone to thank you with that shuttle. Sweet you were appreciated.
Taking it easy = NICE!
Enjoy
Martha
Mercy, I wish my kitchen looked so clean, I am trying to catch up with 2 months of yard work, from all the rain in Maine. Ruggs look fab.
