It just is.

I just read with incredible sadness about the passing of Sarah, over at Spruce Hill.
Though I never met her, I have been a fan, and a follower, for a while.  Her photography was lovely, and her sweet spirit shone through her words.  I worried for her while she was going through treatment for cancer, but I hoped, and prayed, that she would survive it.
I am thinking of her family tonight, especially her little girls, who will have to grow up without their mother.
Sometimes, life can be so unfair.  And hard.

I will admit that I have been in stress mode for the last couple of weeks.
So today, sewing strips of socks together, as mindless as that is, was good for me.

These will become Walking on Sunshine Rugs.

I like to keep the basket close, so I can grab them easily.

I sew the strips together one after another, without cutting them apart.

This is what I did most of the day, except for the time I took to make mulch for some newly planted flowers.   I took a big bag of leaves, emptied them on the ground, and drove back and forth over them with an old lawn mower.  It worked pretty good, too.

Sydney says:  I see you.
Why do you look so sad?

  4. Thanks for sharing Sarah's story so that we who didn't know her can also mark her passing. That's a story that never fails to cause anguish. It also reminds me of my own blessings.
