Water water everywhere.

It is 46 balmy degrees outside, even if it  has rained all night and all day.  On top of the still incredible amount of snow we have, I am not sure where all this water is going to go.

I finished the Vintage Bags this morning, they are on my web site on their very own page.

Then it was off to the Salvation Army with my mother.  She made it very clear to me, that in spite of her being agreeable last week, THIS WEEK is different, and she does not appreciate being DROPPED OFF.
I though a lot about it, and decided that fate was conspiring to make me go, like it or not.
I don't know how much longer I will have her, and if I don't take her, or if I make her worry about going, then I will be sorry later on.
So I am going to accept this for what it is, a couple of hours out of my week.  And after church, I can take her grocery shopping, or to lunch.
And today, I brought my Kindle, and honestly, the time just flew by.  It was either that or a tambourine, and I couldn't quite get into that.
And it is less obvious than knitting.
I am reading something new, and I am liking it a lot so far, it is a movie coming out in April,
Water for Elephants.
Good read.

Time for birthday celebrations.

My granddaughters just turned 7, and 6.

I can't imagine my life without them.  What did I ever do before they came along???

I am grateful to be a part of their lives.

I remember times in my life when getting my priorities straight was a struggle.
It seems so silly now, because it seems so simple.

  3. Water for Elephants will be my next read.
Adorable grandchildren - they have a way of settling your priorities, don't they?

  4. I have Water for Elephants on my bookshelf. Maybe my next read. Right now I'm really into the John Connolly mystery novels, despite my dislike for violence and creepy stuff. You little girls are so sweet. The little one has quite a shiner!

  5. Such sweet little girls - the one that took the fall looks so sad in that last one...

I'm glad you've decided to do this for your mom. All of us reading who have lost our moms are feeling very envious right now... :)

I can't even imagine how that sweet baby got a face full of green and black bruises ?
The weather has run the gamut this year, who knows what's next !

  9. I loved Water for Elephants and am looking forward to seeing the movie and reading her 2nd book. Aren't kids great to remind us what is really important?

  10. Hilary, I took care of my Mom with Alzheimers for 8 years till my house burnt down during the hurricane. I have a friend that has a daughter
and she is lucky to get a phone call from 55 yr old. The Daughter is the needy one always crying about $$. If this woman gets a visit it's because she pays for the visit. She told me when the the Money stops she doesn't hear from her child and all the kid does is ask for her house. What do you think? Besides in the past the kid didn't even see her for years, even after a tragedy, living in the same town.
