Ack.

Stocking the shelves with lots of new warp colors. Organization was the key. It didn't look like it would all fit, but with a
little work, it did.

I have to post this issue on my blog, in hopes that one of you can tell me what the blankety blank I am doing wrong.
I used to use Irfanview, a free program, when I had my Dell. I used it to resize my photos, then uploaded them to Picasa, then copied and pasted them to my blog.
Now, with the new Mac, I am clueless. I tried just uploading them to Picasa, but when I do, the biggest size I can get is 360px.
I have tried just uploading them from Iphoto to my blog, and they still come out small, like the picture above.
I checked my camera, and the image size is set to large.
I have no idea what to do next.
I am not sure that Irfanview is compatible with the Mac.

Now that 2010 is over, and we are into the new year, I feel a little like I am afloat. Trying to get my bearings.
I am weaving hit and miss rugs on a pale blue, lime green, and pale yellow warp. I'd show you, but......
Well, you know.
I don't even have a Mega Millions ticket tonight, so I guess I have ZERO chance to win the 355 million dollars. That's OK, really. It would be too stressful trying to decide who to give it to. I would want to do the most responsible thing, and make the most impact, and that would take a lot of work.
So maybe it's just better not knowing.
Sometime this week, I plan to do a blue warp for blue jean placemats Other than that, nothing much exciting around here.
I actually am feeling pretty lame tonight.
Maybe I should stick to my knitting.

  2. I love the pink spool on the middle shelf that looks like it crawled out of the back row to get a peek at what was going on, and the one on the bottom row that no one wants to stand next to! It must have eaten garlic.... have a good night!

  3. I have no words of wisdom on this issue. And my husband went out in the cold night air because he forgot to pick up his tickets sooner. I will share some of the win with you if that particular lightning strikes :-)

  4. When I upload straight from Picasa on my desktop, (by clicking the little UPLOAD button at the bottom) I have the option to upload a certain resolution (same place where you choose album name, etc). Hope that helps.

I sympathize with the mac-adjustment. I'm still not fully over the shock...

  6. Hilary, will this help? (No, Irfanview doesn’t work on Mac)

From Picasa: Changing default upload settings
To adjust default upload settings like upload quality or album visibility, follow these steps:

Click Tools > Options (Windows) or Picasa > Preferences (Mac).
    Click the Web Albums tab.
Select your default upload preferences in this window before you share your photos. You can adjust the following settings:
Choose your default upload size: Pick from original size, 1600, 1024 or 640 pixels.
Set the default visibility or privacy level for albums uploaded to Picasa Web Albums.
Add a watermark to all uploaded photos.
Click OK to save your changes.

  8. I just love to see the array of colors when you stock the shelves!!! As for the photo upload, when I post on Loomy Tunes, I just upload straight from my picture file.

  9. Does your camera come with a CD? I use the software that came with my camera to download photos, then upload them from my PC to Picassa. But I don't have a Mac. It may be different.

  10. Sounds like some good advice here. Yes, Blue Ridge Gal uses a mac, too. So does my friend, Daryl in NYC. She also uses picnik. http://onthem104.blogspot.com/
    Tell her I sent you.

  13. Oooh, I just love the shot of that rainbow of carpet warp. Mine lives in boxes for now, but I hope to get some clear containers so I can look at it. Karen is right, it's a palette of colors for a weaver!

Good luck with the computer issues. Computers are great when they work, but a pain when they don't.

  14. You MUST get those photo issues figured out so you can show us the blue jean placemats on the loom - I can't wait!

  15. Great way to store the carpet warp-so pleasing on every level. Hope you get the pic prob figured out-I am mac-clueless!

  16. Off Topic! I saw a cool ad for the Crazy as a Loom Solmate Sock Looper rug kit on the Halcyon Yarn site featured on the Weaving Today newsletter in my email box today. What a cool idea! You are featured all over that Halcyon Yarn site. Way to go girl!!!

  17. Hilary, this isn't a Mac issue. It sounds like a Blogger issue. Did you ever update your blog template? I can take a look at it for you if you e-mail me your blogger login and password. If you update then it's really easy to place larger photos on the blog.

  18. I am sorry. I can't help you with the computer thing. You probably wouldn't want me to anyway, I usually make things worse.
I love the colors of the warp threads. I would love to have those on a shelf in my room, just to look at!
I'm two days closer to having my Navajo Rug Loom finished! One more drilled hole and I will have my larger sized bead loom done! I'm getting there!
